5.0 out of 5 stars These balls are a great value!
I coach the ping pong team at the high school where I am an art teacher. We go through a lot of balls. We were buying one star Stigas because they're cheap but when my kids started winning tournaments they wanted to practice with higher quality balls. The best deal I found on three stars at the local sporting goods store came out to about .83 cents a ball. These GOGO's...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the best there is!
These balls are not usatt approved, and after playing with these balls I can tell you the 3-star rating is a gimmick. These balls should honestly be rated 1-star. I will give my reasons. First of all, I am a 1700 usatt rated member, and I have played with many balls such as joola, butterfly, nittaku, gambler, dhs, double fish, newgy, etc.

The hardness of the balls are surprisingly soft. Many 2-star balls are much harder, such as gambler gold, butterfly 2-star, and newgy 2-star. So it feels really light when you're hitting and looping.
The roundness and durability are good, but it doesn't really matter, because club level players won't use these. These balls are meant for garage players, or for robot and multi ball training.
The price of these balls are okay at 24 cents a ball. But, Gambler 2-star balls sell for 20 cents a ball.
Overall, not bad for the robot, multi-ball, and beginners. But these don't even come close to DHS 3-star or double fish 3-star!

5.0 out of 5 stars These balls are a great value!, February 8, 2009
This review is from: GOGO™ 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (144-pack), Ping Pong Balls (Misc.)
These GOGO's come out to .25 cents a ball even after shipping charges are figured in! The best part is that they play great! we've used DHS and Halex three stars and the GOGO's are absolutely comparable. If you need a lot of high quality balls you can't go wrong with these.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginner/intermediate level, recreational, multi-ball training and outdoor play, February 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The quality of the GOGO 3-star balls is impressive given the low price. Both the bounce and the durability are decent, although in a side-by-side comparison the GOGOs pale somewhat in quality to DHS 3-stars, which are regulation ping pong balls. Because of their great value, the GOGOs would be suitable for: 1) Beginner's (or even intermediate) level of play. If you are not playing with high-performance or professional-quality paddles, the GOGOs are definitely good enough for you. 2) Recreational play. If you are not keeping scores, or only play casual games, the GOGOs are usually adequate. 3) Multi-ball training for non-professionals. If you need a lot of balls and you are not training for serious competitions, this is surely an economical way to go (the regulation balls can cost 4 times as much). 4) Outdoor play. Here the wind factor may outweigh any subtle difference in ball quality. If you accidentally leave a few GOGO balls outside overnight, you won't feel too bad since they are cheap to replace. For many people, it is probably a good idea to get a gross (144) of GOGOs for multi-ball training, and some regulation 3-stars (e.g. DHS) for more serious occasions. (Updated in September 2010).

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome ping pong balls., January 15, 2009
This review is from: GOGO™ 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (144-pack), Ping Pong Balls (Misc.)
For the price this was an incredible deal. The balls have a true bounce, and they are very durable. My dad got me these for christmas and i love them!!!! My dad and i are intermediate players, but we smash and spike the ball very hard and are extremely competitive. We have no complaints about these balls, they're great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gogo 3-Star Table Tennis Balls, January 23, 2009
This review is from: GOGO™ 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (144-pack), Ping Pong Balls (Misc.)
First of let me say this was a lot of balls. I was happy, my kids were happy, my wife was mad. These are excellent three (3) *** star ping pong/table tennis balls. They have great bounce, they have great color and their are resistant to being crushed, or at least they seem like they are. I am super happy with these and if I ever run out of balls, I will certainly re-invest. In fact, I might buy this as a gift for someone with a table that plays a lot. For $25 this is makes an excellent gift. Ok, now I'm going to go buy more. Lastly, they were delivered quickly and were packed well. I would not only buy this product again, I would certainly buy from this vendor.

I ordered 1 bag (144 balls) of GOGO 3-star ping pong balls from ATAFA 4 weeks ago. ATAFA offered great service by delivering them in no time. The balls arrived in excellent condition. I am a fairly decent player and practice often with my friends or with the Robo Pong machine. These 3-star balls are superb with just the right feel and right bounce. For the price (final cost just under 26 cents per ball), these balls are unbeatable.

2.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE: Not Approved For Tournaments, April 22, 2010
By
Larry Thoman "Pipsmasher" (Gallatin, TN United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This ball is not approved for tournament play by either USATT (National Governing Body for Table Tennis in the US) or by ITTF (the International Governing Body for the sport). Beware of their claims of 3-star quality. This designation is reserved for balls that have undergone testing by the ITTF or USATT to assure quality for sanctioned tournaments. This ball has not gone through such testing. Convention in table tennis is that only balls that have passed such tests be advertised as 3-stars. These are cheap Chinese balls being marketed to unsuspecting (unknowledgeable) Americans who have no idea how TT balls are rated or approved. Since they have not gone through the quality tests, they can mark the balls any way they want and are obviously trying to make their ball look better than it is by marking them 3-stars.

Was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing a gross (144) of balls at such a good price even though they were rated 3-stars. Now that we've played with these, they're better than the Stiga 3-star balls that we paid much more for. Will also share this great experience with others. Thanks for a great value. For those who do not know the star ratings for table tennis balls; the range is between 1-3, with 3 being of the highest quality. My wife and I play two days a week for about 1 1/2 hours each time and we do play hard. These balls will take a beating and last and last. It has a true bounce and feel of balls costing $8 for 3 and these are so economical that we don't worry about breaking a ball now and then, but we haven't been able to break one in over a month of hard play. Our only dilemma is what to do with 144 balls; we're handing them out to others we see playing for their own assessment and with our recommendation.

Great deal on these very good ping pong balls. We are pleased and if we go through 144 balls, we'll purchase again!
