Very Happy with Bird Feeder,

We got this bird feeder for our sons' bedroom window. They love waking up to watching birds having breakfast at their window. I was afraid it might blow down on windy days so we took the bottom part off when we had 40 mph gusts. We had another severe wind warning and I barely got home before 70 mph gusts were hitting our house. I went around the corner to take it down and pieces of metal roofing were flying towards our yard so I went back inside and thought, "Oh well, there goes the bird feeder." I went in my boys room to watch it get blown away and all of the seed was coming out like you see the jackpot money on tv, but the bird feeder did not budge. Very happy with the purchase.

Great feeder now that I know how to keep out the squirrels.,

Small birds love to sit on this feeder at the window. Squirrels will chew on the roof to get at the seeds. I was able to cure that problem by mixing some hot pepper suet chunks into the seed mix (not harmful to birds, but squirrels hate it).

It works, but...,

This bird feeder is attractive, sturdy and works well, but the seed flows out much more quickly than my last birdfeeder and it empties fully in about 4 hours, which means I am spending 3-4 times as much on bird seed. Not sure why it is designed this way, but would prefer a slower feed. The birds love it and it is covered with birds all day long, of all varieties as I use black sunflower seeds.

One terrific little feeder!!,

I have had this product for at least five years and it was bought at a garage sale. It has feed many birds and it is so much fun to watch the birds have their feast, since I only put sunflower pieces in it. Enjoy!!

We love this little feeder! Our cat is home alone all day and it is now her "job" to watch all the birds come and eat out of it. It was easy to put up and amazingly stays with the heavy duty suction cups. We love this idea and plan on giving as gifts for Christmas. Love, love, love this item!Cafe Window Feeder, 3/4 Qt Clear

Rats!,

This is a nice, well-made feeder that doesn't empty out quickly even though we get lots of birds eating from it on our patio table. The roof is a boon; a lot of birds like to come by after it's snowed, because they can get in and get food with some shelter from the snow.
We ran into two problems with this feeder, however. You'll note that I said above that the feeder is on our patio table, and both problems played into that. 1) When mounted on our window, the feeder attracted rats. I mounted it high up on the window (about 8 feet off the ground), and I put red pepper flakes into the seed, but neither helped. Apparently black rats, the kind we were attracting, are good climbers and aren't deterred by red pepper. They were climbing up the window pane dividers on our windows to get to the feeder. They cannot, however, climb up the top part of the tripod legs on our little, metal patio table; thus, the feeder is there now. 2) Birds were reluctant to use the feeder when it was mounted on the window. They'd land and then take off right away if there was any movement in the house. I bought the feeder so my daughter could see the birds she loves up close, but that was a bust as the birds wouldn't come close. They'll land and use the feeder with abandon on the patio table, though, even though it's only about 5 feet from the window. While it was on the window, though, we didn't have any problems with the suction. The feeder held the weight of a big rat without coming even a little loose. I've found it's made well, but it doesn't work on the window in our conditions.

Suction Problems,

This bird feeder has fallen from my window several times. The suction cups don't seem to be particularly strong or ideally positioned on the feeder.
