I am a GOLO adddict, I admit it. This is the most addicting game I have ever played. I also used to play Yahtzee and there is a ton more strategy to GOLO, especially if you are playing against others... should you play safe and pull pars, should you go for birdies and eagles, call bottoms?? Also, the best part of this game is that it is simple, fast, and you dont have to think to much. You can shoot a 9 hole round in about 1- 2 minutes. If you are a first time golfer or a junior golfer, it teaches the basics rules and scoring of golf in about 10 -15 minutes. Fun for the entire family. I was fortunate enough to attend a GOLO US OPEN party in Orlando at the PGA SHOW and everyone had the time of their life. Golf Digest just rated GOLO the #1 gift for Christmas and called it the coolest golf game ever created!

If you like dice games, this is a must. You wouldn't think there would be a lot of strategy for a game that plays in a couple of minutes. 1 round of 9-18 holes is pretty fun. But try playing a 4 round tournament with 4-8 people. Do you roll conservative for pars or do you have to be aggressive with birdies and eagles to overtake the leader. Very competitive with a group of people. Great way for kids to learn the golf scoring system.

When I was a kid, playing sports board games was popular. I was a big fan of Strat-o-matic basketball and Sherco baseball, both of which used a system to convert real statistics into the game's action through the roll of dice. One thing I liked about these types of games was that they actually required strategy and some knowledge of the game. You really had to manage your team and make decisions, take risks, etc. Unfortunately, with the popularity of video games, sports board games have all but disappeared. With its somewhat slow pace of play and limited statistics, one would think that golf is an unlikely sport to generate a revival of sports board games, and, yet, two new games were recommended by Golf magazines this year. Golo golf was one of them. This is a dice game with a golf scoring theme. It is so simplistic it is kind of silly. There is no strategy involved; everything is based on pure chance. The game has 9 twelve sided dice with golf "scores" on each side (par, bogey, eagle, or higher numbers]. The object of the game is to score the lowest "round." You roll the dice and pick the best score for the hole. You keep rolling until all nine dice are used and add up your totals. That's the front nine holes. If you want to play a second nine holes, simply repeat... Two people can play 18 holes in less than 5 minutes. That's it; that's the game. Sounds silly? It is; but it is also kind of cute and unique. At $20, this is not a game that I would buy for myself; but, I got it as a gift so I decided to keep it. It is not the type of game you would organize a family night or a party around, but it may be a good one to have with you if you are waiting to play a round of golf and it is raining... Who knows?, maybe in a few years, like Strat-o-matic, it will be an antique collectors' item. If you are looking for a dice game that involves some strategy as well as chance, though, you can try Yahtzee.

I am a GOLO adddict, I admit it. This is the most addicting game I have ever played & I couldn't disagree more with the review above. I also used to play Yahtzee and there is a ton more strategy to GOLO, especially if you are playing against others... should you play safe and pull pars, should you go for birdies and eagles, call bottoms?? What he/she doesn't get is that if you know golf, there is strategy to GOLO. Also, the best part of this game is that it is simple, fast, and you dont have to think to much. You can shoot a 9 hole round in about 1- 2 minutes. It is also the perfect party game especially at the bar & especially if you want to gamble. I was fortunate enough to attend a GOLO US OPEN party in Orlando at the PGA SHOW and everyone had the time of their life. I got GOLO as a Christmas gift a few years ago and it has quickly become my family's go-to game! We play it will all of our friends and family. Not only is it EXTREMELY addictive, but it's competitive, exciting, and easy for anyone at any age to learn! GOLO is one of those games that can get the whole room on it's feet, and the energy and competitiveness it brings is awesome! I now own ALL the GoZone games which includes GoLong, Go500, and GoHoops. They are all SO fun and original, I definitely would recommend these games to everyone! Thanks GoZone!!
