4.0 out of 5 stars Too funny, yet not.
I almost wet myself by laughing so much while reading this book. It's all true, all documented, and all so sad. Yet, it seems, that Americans are gluttons for punishment. Why do we even entertain the idea of voting republican?

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny bits, but...
Well, there is plenty to hate/make fun of in political leaders. And given the titel and cover photo I knew it was going to be left leaning. That is all good, but I wish an informative book existed that was not so far left/right as to alienate a middle of the road audience. This book has facts and tidbits of interest to all Americans. However, the thick bias in writing...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gem Of A Book! Should Be Required Reading Before Graduating College!, September 6, 2011

The writers of this book dig deep and name names. I couldn't find anything to disagree with! While there are plenty of lousy Democrats, there are 10 times more lousy Republicans than Democrats. Also the Republicans will do and say anything to get or keep power. A good example is the current U.S. Senator from Georgia, Saxby Chambliss. He wanted power so bad he ran sickening ads against the then Democratic Senator Max Cleland, who happens to be a triple amputee as a result of combat in Vietnam. This Republican low-life ran ads on T.V. questioning Senator Cleland's patriotism, even comparing him to Osama bin Laden (See page 64)! Obviously, the ads worked! Senator Cleland lost the election and Senator Chambliss is still Senator as of 2011. It looks like his reprehensible behavior didn't cause him to lose any sleep, either! I never heard Chambliss apologize for stooping so low!.

My only criticism of the GOP-Haters Guidebook is the title. I doubt anyone but those who already strongly dislike the Republicans bothered to read this book. Next time, come up with a more clever title so this type of book gets a wider audience! People need to know the facts. They can then draw there own conclusions!

However, the thick bias in writing and uneducated writing (e.g. chomping at the bit, instead of champing at the bit) make it feel like a fringe cult writing. The authors are humorus and there are many facts that will make you mad/outraged, but some people like McCain have a dearth of coverage. A book that talked about slimey stuff from all politicians (regardless of party), without interjecting author ideology would be the ideal book. This one isn't quite there, but enjoyable if you are in the 70%+ of Americans who disapprove of current abuses in the administration. Hint: These guys are probably even worse than you thought!

I haven't finished the book yet.
It has some good material.
I don't think it's that well organized or documented.
