So these shorts have an inner set of compression shorts with the built in padding. They're removable so you can wash them separately. The build quality of both pairs is good, I think they'll hold up. Here's my main gripe, there's too much padding. I realize this is subjective and everyone's rear and gear down there are different. For me, my gear was numb after the first ten minutes wearing these. Something about the padding cuts off my blood flow to the area. Could be too wide, could be to thik, but something about the padding makes for a VERY uncomfortable ride for me.

I'm a dedicated MTB'er and ride at least four times per week. These shorts are comfortable, have usable pockets, and are easily cared for...I would recommend them.

These shorts are great for riding and getting to the ride. You know when you stop by the gas station and you don't want to be that guy wearing spandex shorts....padding is great and they have helped me ride longer comfortably, than I thought I could.

I read in the reviews that these shorts were small for the size. I ignored the information and bought my size. Well, they are, in fact small for the size. I'll have to lose more weight to get into them (not a bad thing). The quality is good and the shorts are of good value for the price.

I started mountain biking a couple months ago, and I have to say these are affordable and comfortable mountain biking shorts. I went on a 20 mile trail ride and these held up without a hitch. These shorts are made of to layers: there is the outer layer containing a nice light nylon fabric, and then the spandex interior containing padding that holds up very well. I paid $55 for the tan pair, and I have no regrets. I highly recommend this product.

The inner liner was excellent and fit perfectly. However, the shorts were much too loose and a belt would have been mandatory at all times to keep them up (although, the liner does have little loops that would have held the shorts up, but then I would have looked ridiculous).

I'm 5'7" and 29" waist. I bought the small, and sadly I got the impression that the liner was made perfectly for 28"-30" (as sizing chart indicated), but the short would probably be best for 30"-32". The shorts were a bit long and went to mid-knee on me.

I really liked the quality of the shorts, loved the liner, but the sizing on the shorts is why I didn't rate this product higher and had to return them. Really wanted to keep these =(

Im only riding short trips at this stage (getting my fitness up), but still value my bits! I intend to increase my riding time and wearing normal shorts was killing me. These shorts have superb padding in all the right places. Very ergonomically constructed, supportive, high quality and breathable.
The only draw back is the top pockets are shallow (velcro leg pockets are additionally included) & dont hold much (keys at best) - but this wouldn't stop me from recommending these shorts & GORE BIKE WEAR in general, their gear is top notch - Buy them!
