I recently purchased an iPod Classic (after many years of shying away from Apple products due to cost) but found the Classic 120GB on Amazon for a great price. Then, I started looking for a method to enjoy my music at work and ta-daa, found the GoGrove MOVE - on Amazon for a great price. (Are you getting the thread here? Amazon is the best!)

This speaker system is small (about 7"w x 9"h x 1/5"d), can be wall mounted or used like a picture frame (the stand is attached), attractively designed, and is freakin' awesome. The sound is wonderful (full, crisp), it works first time every time, and with an AC adapter no batteries are needed. It can be used with batteries tho, for those times when you want to carry your tunes with you.

Don't be afraid of this purchase - the money is right for the value.

I had not heard of this brand before, but I read a few positive reviews of the quality of sound and ordered it for my desk at work. After I ordered the GoGroove MOVE SonusMax Speaker System, I found another speaker system on sale at a box store. I took it to work and tried it out; luckily I kept the box this speaker system came in. The sound was very tinny and unsatisfactory. I promptly took this system back to the store and waited on my SonusMax to arrive.

I own both a Zune HD and an iPod Touch. I feel the Zune has a little better sound quality to it (at least through headphones), but I was very impressed at the sound output of my Touch through the SonusMax system. The bass was just the right amount and the tone quality was good. The on/off button and volume controls are on the top of this unit, which makes it easy to adjust. I also like the small footprint that this upright unit has on my desk, it has a picture-frame-like stand on the back that sets it predominantly upright and out of the way. It can also be mounted on a wall, but I don't really see too many people doing that. A little caution is needed when both seating your Touch into the unit and removing it. It is manufactured well and the front mount pops out to give access to the mounting bracket, but it seems a little hard to mount and remove. I certainly haven't had any problems doing either yet, it just seems like a small amount of force is needed.

I also like the fact that I can use the included input cable to hook up my Zune HD and listen to HD radio! Overall a very good product for the $50 I spent.

Ok, I was actually looking for a speaker system to use with my iPod touch to act as an alarm clock that wasn't too expensive when I came across these great speakers. At first I wasn't too convinced but after reading and looking it up I was sure that they were going to be pretty good. When I received them, I was like WHOA! These speakers can be taken anywhere (they can be powered by two AA batteries but also includes a power outlet) and can be positioned just about anywhere. The stand in the back of them can be adjusted to stand vertically or horizontally, the can be hung on a wall or simply placed flat on a surface. They are really loud too. I now use this, in conjunction with an app that lets me use songs from my iPod touch as my alarm "tone", to wake me up every morning for work. And one of the best things about the speakers is that, while the app uses up battery power from my iPod to work since it must be "in use" for it to set off the alarm, these speakers charge my iPod while it's connected! So no half-used battery in the morning from a night of use! =)
Altogether, I give these speakers a 4 out of 4 star rating. I loved them and I don't think you can get such useful speakers for the same amount of money. Portable, adjustable, loud, charges, and great to watch movies in!

I normally don't bother with reviews but this is so good I had to tell everyone. This is perfect! Especially if you want to watch a movie. I have an iPhone 3Gs and to have such great stereo sound for The Santa Clause really perked up my holidays. I also use my bluetooth and voice control on the iPhone to shuffle music, play next track, etc. without touching the unit. I can't comment on the life of the product since I've had it for one day, but the sound is well worth the price.

This is not the kind of speaker system for excellent sound, but it does its job for an inexpensive, portable speaker/dock. I love the ease of use and the portability (I take it traveling and put it all over the house - it's my only set of speakers) and it gets loud enough for me. However, the oddest thing happens: the music will stop suddenly like the ipod has become unhooked (I have the latest gen ipod Touch). I will then have to take the ipod off the dock and replace it, then it works again. But this occurs frequently enough that it is annoying. If I had an option to buy this product again, I would not.

I had been looking for a speaker system that charged my iPhone and operated in landscape. This fit perfectly. The cheaper systems out there will not charge the iPhone and simply plug into the audio jack draining the battery. The more expensive ones are either high end audio systems (which I don't prefer) or have clock functionality added in.

Who needs a clock?!? The iphone has apps for clock/alarm/music functionality. Who needs to integrate an iphone and a clock radio?

Oh well. The controls are simple on/off, volume +, volume -. The holder is latched to prevent the iphone from falling out. The iphone will actually slide in when the cover is open then it has to be pushed into the docking connector. It operates from batteries or an AC plug. When using batteries, it doesn't charge the iphone.

There are only three downsides to this so far. First, when trying to put in the iphone or take it out. It has to be pushed in a rather difficult way. I often push the top button and put the iphone to sleep. Otherwise, I will not push down enough so it may not completely connect to the dock. When trying to get it out, there is no good way to grip it.

The second one is kinda big. When a call comes in, it is awkward to handle. Since the system latches and has a snug fit, it is difficult to unlatch, pull it out and answer. If you leave the system in, the only way to use it is by putting the call on speakerphone. This works, but the clarity is diminished. People on the other end have said it's not like normal, but they can hear me ok.

The last one is that the sleep/vibrate buttons are hidden when latched in so it's a little difficult to sleep it. Not a big deal though as you can unlatch it and sleep it.

If there was a better way to get the iphone out or if there was a passthrough for the speakerphone system, it would be perfect. As it stands, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I got this speaker because the speakers on my Iphone just were not cutting it. Granted I could hear my music fine across a gymnasium one day while decorating, but for some reason if I set it on the back of the toilet I could not hear it from the bath (not shower, mind you). I guess the dehumidifier in the bathroom was overpowering the sound.

Anyhow, these speakers offer at least twice the volume the Iphone speakers do, although I haven't cranked it full blast yet. I absolutely love this. The quality is also superb; I can't tell the difference in sound quality between this and the Bose radio at my dentist's.
My only qualm was that you really have to make sure the phone is pushed down all the way. It took me a few minutes to realize mine wasn't the first time and I thought it had crapped out on me already!!! Also, my Iphone always says it doesn't recognize the accessory/it cannot charge with this accessory. Bull....It has been doing just fine playing and charging. Just ignore any complaints from the phone...it's just confused.

As another reviewer mentioned, you must remove any phone cases before inserting. To them this was a bad thing for some reason; personally, I love the nice smooth fit (like a glove!). It gives it a very tailored, sleek appearance.

Also, unless I'm much mistaken, this unit seems to charge my phone faster than the standard charger, I may be wrong about that, though.

I bought this as a gift for my wife, who likes to listen to her music through her iPhone 3Gs while she cooks.

After doing some research into various iPod/iPhone docks, I went with this one for a few reasons:

a) reviews here on Amazon indicated that it was reasonably good quality
b) it works with 3rd-generation iPhones
c) it plugs in, and charges your phone
d) it allows you to mount your iPhone vertically or horizontally
e) it has a fairly small physical footprint
f) it was reasonably inexpensive

All of these considerations rang true after I unpacked the dock and put it on the window sill. I wasn't looking for ultra-high fidelity sound, nor any crazy sleep/clock functions - this was just a place to put her iPhone that would amplify the sound while she was in the kitchen. It does this just fine. It's loud enough for our purposes and easy to use.

My only complaints? Minor, but here's what I found:

First, if you have a case for your iPhone, you have to take the case off in order to mount the phone in the dock. This is our first iPhone dock, so maybe that's standard operating procedure, but it was a surprise to me. It's not terribly inconvenient, but I do wish I had a dock that let me mount the iPhone w/o having the remove the case.

Second, there's a trick to getting the dock to play the music through its speakers. I think it's something like: make sure the music is NOT playing when you plug the phone into the dock. If your iPhone/iPod is already playing music when you plug it in, the dock won't play the music through its speakers - it'll just let the iPhone continue to play the music through its own internal speaker.

Third, once it's docked, it's a snug fit - and you have to really pull to undock it. Due to the design of the dock (it's got a bay that you put the iPhone in, and then lock the bay shut), this can require some dexterity and strength, and can be frustrating when you're trying to undock your phone so you can answer a call. I always feel like I might break the dock or the iPhone when it comes time to pull it out (although neither has actually happened).

All told, those three concerns aren't major. The sound through the speakers is decent, and it charges your iPhone/iPod while it's plugged in. I don't use the dock with batteries, so I'm not sure if it will charge your phone on batteries or not, but that hasn't been a concern for me.

Overall, given the relatively inexpensive price of this dock coupled with the good sound quality, I have been happy with this purchase, and would recommend it for anyone who wants to use it for a similar purpose.

Final note, if you're looking for a dock that can play REALLY LOUDLY, like to provide loud music during a party - this is probably not your dock. It's not loud enough for that.

I'm giving this dock 4/5 stars due to the minor limitations I've listed above.

I got this for my sister as a gift but when I was able to take a better look at it I was impresed was the design and the versatility of the product. The product is portable or can be wall mounted and can hold securely the various versions of the ipods. The sound was clear and my sister said that she was going to listen to it on her drive home because her radio stations didn't come in all that clear. I was so impressed that I have ordered one for myself and can't wait until I receive this product. i find that the pricing is reasonable as well.

I am happy with this speaker system. I bought it for my boyfriend who I dance professionally with. We love the quality of the speakers too - the volume is good for practicing, for the car, and for dancing outside. I would recommend this product to friends. For the price, this is a good speaker system.
