5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy
We have bought several GPX brand mp3 players for our use and as presents. Love the expansion slot. Never had a problem with any of the players we have purchased. It's probably no Ipod, but no big deal it works and takes SD cards as well as internal memory. Besides at $20, you don't have to be too upset when you drop it in a mud puddle. I'm tickled with mine.

1.0 out of 5 stars CHEAP Junk
I would not pay more then $10 for this thing honestly, It might be good for a child's first MP3 player. I would not give it to any adult though. the only plus i could find was it had an SD card slot for more storage, but 1/2 the card sticks out, which naturalizes the plus. LOL!! The stock earbuds are horrid, even a $6 pair of Maxwell buds can outperform them. I guess you...

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well for the price., February 16, 2011
This review is from: GPX 1GB Digital Audio Player (Electronics)
I recieved this as a gift about a year and half ago (you may ask why I'm just now reviewing it... read on.)

Within the first two weeks, half of the display stopped working (although I had dropped it a few times, so it was most likely my fault). My sister got the same one at the same time and the display on her's is still perfect.

The headphones that come with it sucked. I ended up buying another pair.

It's only 1gb, and fits about 250 songs. Which I'm finding is not really enough for me, so I'm always changing the songs I have on there.

I use rechargable batteries. It would go through regular ones too quickly.

Now, for the reason I suddenly love this mp3 player. Yesterday, I accidently dropped it from my 4th floor balcony. It fell onto rocks below. When I got down there, I found it in pieces. I reassembled it, put the battery back in, and much to my surprise, STILL WORKED! I was shocked.

Overall, for the price, it's a decent mp3 player. It plays music just fine(that's all I need it to do, I'm not picky). And it's pretty much indestructable.

I guess you don't have to worry about a rechargeable battery, but the battery will fall out if you knock it in your pocket. speaking of putting it in your pocket, it feels like a small brick. I almost forgot the screen is about as bad as a cheap Dollar Tree LCD watch. I tell ya GPX makes some really hit, and miss products, and this was a BIG MISS. I feel i got ripped off at $20. I ended up regifting it too my boss for Christmas. He's not a very tech person, so he thought it was nice. LMAO!!! In short stay away from this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Do It!, November 26, 2008
Bought two of these for my daughters to bring home from a trip. I knew I could get a known brand online for the price (around $25), but it was an on spot item to bring home for excitement value. What a waste!!!! Right out of box, neither LCD worked correctly, each only showed the bottom half of display. Sound was horrifingly tin-can ish and unit locks up at least once every time they use it. Only fix is popping battery in and out. It is as light as a handful of paperclips, very flimsy. This is a positive though because it will be easy to smash when I replace them this holiday. Served two purposes: 1. kids were excited to open their very first MP3 players, and 2. smash-value! Is really a 0-stars product, but can't chose that. STAY AWAY!
