I LOVE this GPX BD707B Portable DVD Boom Box! (title on Amazon is incorrect)
It is very well made (not a light cheap boom box) , very fun and easy to use. The bass on this item is AWESOME, the sound quality is surprisingly fantastic for a boom box - the best one I've ever heard with such great sound quality.

The radio tuner is very nice with AM/FM/FM Stereo. The stations come in very well and I haven't had to even use the antenna on it yet.

I have twin boys and they LOVE how they can BOTH sing along with a few Karaoke CD's we have while using the mics (this system has TWO mic jacks and you can also easily adjust the mic level). This works fantastic with the Region 1 and Region 2 DVD's (PAL and NTSC)that we own. To access the settings (brightness, contrast, aspect ratio etc.) you can use the MENU button on the the boombox or with the supplied remote.

Although it does not have an Aux. in jack or an SD card slot, I was able to connect my MP3/MP4 player that has an SD card with MP3's in a folder. I just connected it up with a USB cable to this boombox and it works great! It found the AUDIO folder right off and played the MP3's. This item also works with MP3's on CD's, as well as MP3's on my USB Flash drives. This connects up very nicely with my camcorders and TV too.

This will be fun to have on the patio, at a family BBQ, at picnics, or where ever you'd take a boom box to. AND this one also PLAYS DVD's as well as gives you access to your camcorder to view on the 7 inch screen.

This was an "impulse buy" that I kept putting off. I'd look at it and think, That looks kind of cool. And then I'd wait. But the day was fast approaching when the little TV--the little ANALOG TV--that I took with me to the park was no longer going to work, and that was something I had enjoyed doing on lazy summer nights. So I finally pulled the trigger.

First impression: I wish the handle seemed stronger, and the knobs are sort of loose. It could feel better-put-together, sturdier. And I have yet to figure out how to adjust the brightness properly. BUT...it does everything I hoped it would. The sound and the picture (which is small, but that's kind of the point of a portable) are excellent. It's easy to use (but I do wish that there was an option to leave the remote behind for some functions that could have been included on the box itself)and so far hasn't eaten through batteries too fast (something my TV actually did do).

And here's how the thing has already paid for itself. My girlfriend and I were going to see "Up," but it as sold out. We set this box on the car dash in the theater parking lot and watched Ken Russell's "The Devils," with fog and rain and the shadows of passers-by as the backdrop. It was a perfectly creepy, unsettling experience. If nothing else, this gadget makes for a fine "drive-in" movie. I hesitate to recommend it too highly, because I can easily imagine it not being up to the rough treatment it will inevitably experience someday (boomboxes have to be able to take some punishment or they're not portable), but for what we've used it for so far...I've been very pleased.

I bought this through a different seller on Amazon, who, thankfully, operated with Amazon's refund/return policy, which is phenomenal. I thought it would be great for my daughter. It arrived promptly (from a different seller, mind you) and appeared to be in good condition. I set it on the table, put in a DVD for my daughter, and halfway through the movie it stopped working. The DVD player would spin up after that, but would say "Invalid Format" or something like that every time. The other functions seemed to work well, but after using nearly all possible formats of DVD/CD (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RAM, CD-R, and SVCD, as well as 3 or 4 original DVDs), cleaning the lens, and reseting all of the options to factory defaults, it simply would no longer accept a DVD.

It was a great idea, and I'd love to someday get one that will work, but not this particular product. The seller gave me a full refund.

This, by the way, is a great example of why I refuse to buy anything from Amazon that doesn't have the Amazon refund/return policy. Everyone else has a fee of some sort, including the current seller above--theirs is something like you can't get a full refund unless the product is unopened. Good luck seeing if it works before you open it! You can take your chances, but I don't recommend this product without a full refund option.

Both the sound quality and video display are as good as one can expect for the price-- not bad but certainly not great. My only complaint is that the credit card sized remote control is awful. Labels on the keys are printed in gray, making them hard to read against the black background (small type and minimal contrast make them impossible to read in low light). Most of the time the keys need to be pressed several times before they respond. To avoid frustration, I taught the remote commands to a learning universal remote (URC RF20).
On the positive side, the boom box accepts both commercially and home recorded versions of CD's and DVD's-- including music and audiobooks I recorded on DVD-R disks. Sound levels are louder than I expected and the video display is quite bright.

Only have had it for a few hours but I really like it overall except one draw back.... the microphone does not work at all. My only option is to take it back to where I purchased it. They don't have anymore so called the GPX number after being on hold for 15 minutes they said they weren't open call back when they were. So, looks like I love the "boombox" but won't be keeping it. The sound is great for a semi-small player. The screen has great clarity for only 7 inches. Easy to learn to operate. Also, played pictures from SD card hooked up to USB Reader. Instruction manual in box and on line are limited. I wish I could keep it, but the customer service seems to be lacking. Also, this product was repackaged as new as there were finger prints on the black plasic player. I am very dissappointed. :(

I bought this boombox for my 15 year daughter's birthday. I was actually very pleased and surprised with the value for the price on this one. Very easy to use, great little picture on the 7" screen, good sound quality as well. She took it on vacation with adapter we purchase and was occupied for long drive and down time. Sturdy packaging great buy!

I ordered this item new on Amazon (from Ace Digital) January 11,2011. It no longer plays cd's dvd's or karaoke. I only used it maybe five or six times total! It only had a ninety day warranty... I did not know that at the time. Thank God, for SquareTrade warranty! I get my purchase price back from them. Don't buy this item... it is a waste of time and money.

I bought two of these at JCPenney and the DVD player quit working on both of them within days. One of them started smoking when I placed the DVD on hold for a minute. They have both been returned and it's no longer available on the website, most likely due to multiple returns.

I see that a few folks had some problems, with this product, brand new and right out of the factory carton! IMHO, this is totally unacceptable. Others, appeared fairly content. Personally.... I purchased mine as a "factory rework" for a miserly 45.00 and after several weeks of extended use (I reside within an assisted living complex) and I have lent my machine out to other residents and thus far (about 1 month or so) can wholeheartedly recommend the gpx bd707b player!! My sons wife works for an outfit that makes quite a few electronic gadgets and she is employed in their warranty, repair station. I am begining to think that factory reworked items might be the way to purchase if you you get my drift??!!

Shipped promptly, arrived as advertised. I bought this as a gift for my wife after she finished decorating her own office/dressing room. She does not want or need a TV or computer so this is perfect for her. She can listen to CDs, or the radio and BEST of all watch her opera DVDs with her headphones so she doesn't disturb me while I monopolize the entertainment center!
