I give this 3 stars due to the fact of the players inability to play CDRs... For those of you who don't record your own music on cds, this player is great.. For those of us who love making compilation albums or back-up their original disks, I would suggest you purchase another player...

This is an awesome cd player, I didn't care for the headphones, but the player is great. With the 40 second anti-skip it never skips, I dropped it from about 4 feet, and it is fine. The bass is great too! Pick this one up, you'll be happy you did.

The player is awesome. The guality is great and the color isnice. The only bad part is the headphones, they're uncomftorable andthe color SUX. I think u should get this player if u already have headphones or are willing to pay more for an extra set of headphones. ESP is AWESOME! Never SKIPS

This is your average CD player I suppose. The headphones are horrible. The plastic of the headphones rub against my ears and I usually end up with irritated ears. And the plastic breaks as well, super glue doesn't even hold them. The little "Bass Booster" on the headphones just get in the way, it's simply another way to adjust the volume. When I switch the Bass Booster from On to Off, I can hardly hear a difference. Yet, it /does/ play writable CDs, I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about. I write alot of my own CDs, and it plays just fine. It seems to have a hard time reading the CD, but the ESP thing helps out a bit. Speaking of the ESP, that is a good thing about the CD player. It doesn't lie when it says 40+. The player has certainly gotten its beating since I take it everywhere, and it still plays perfectly.

Good CD player for the money.,

Great sound and clarity. The anti-skip protection works great. I shook it up quite a bit as a test. The only drawback is the headphones. They fit awkwardly and are kinda cheap, but for the price it is hard to beat this CD player.

I wish I bought from amazon to save $10, but I still think the price I paid was worth it. The great feature on this item is the volume adjustment on the head phone wire; this is great for the jogger, because I don't have to search for the volume control on the player. I like the fact that the head phones are weightless, because I tried others that were heavy and would fall off while jogging. The included adapter for cassette players is a bonus. The sound quality is perfect, and it was important for me to have the 40 second shock protection. With the package deal, the features, and cool style, this will satisfy your needs for a portable CD player.

This cd player is really junky. there are so many down sides to it. 1)the headphones are really cheap. They were made of cheap plastic, and broke very easily. 2) The anti-skip feature is basically useless, since it still skipped when it was activated. 3) it's pretty bulky. 4)It doesn't play very long when you use 2 AA bateries instead of the AC adapter. 5) it doesn't play CD-R cd's. The only reason why I still gave this product 2 stars was because it was pretty good when it was new, and everything worked perfectly. However, this product is NOT worth it for the price. To be honest, a cheap CD player like this should be priced for $15.

It looks pretty good for [the price] but there is more than what meets the eye. Let's start with the good qualities: 40 second anti-shock, bass-boost system, nice design, durable, one year warrany. Now the downsides: The anti-shock needs to build up for 40 seconds at the beginning of every track or each time you return from pause, so therefore if, say, you're jogging with your CD player, you need to wait 40 seconds so the anti-shock can build up, otherwise the bouncing will wear it off while it builds up. The bass-boost makes barely any difference. All it does is increase the volume VERY slightly. After a while, you sometimes need to press the buttons a few times before they actualy respond. The "open" button is very easy to accidently pressand the hold button doesn't stop it. If you drop it while listening to a CD, that part will always screw-up unless you have anti-shock active (The CD will still play fine in any other device, CD player or boombox). And the most annoying part yet (at least it happened to me this way): Last week I put in a CD and tried playing it and I noticed my right headphone wasn't working. I tried using a different set of headphones and the car kit too but it was still screwed. Though I found out that if I put the headphone jack half-way in, I can hear with both ears but only the left ear's part. So say I listen to Bohemian Rhapsody, which has a lot of stereo effects, I hear the left ear part in both ears and the right ear part is missing. REALLY ANNOYING!!! Oh yeah, and all this happened just after my warranty expired. AAAHHH!!! So since durability and nice design don't really count if the thing sucks, the bottom line is buy this if you think [theprice] is worth it for a slightly under average CD player that's good for a year.

Don't Buy This Discman,
By Chris Adams (Flemington, NJ United States) - See all my reviews

This Discman has given me many long hours of grief. The batteries die down so quickly. Also, it is not very compatible with CD-R's. If you buy this discman to save money, the batteries will cost way more in the long run. Go for a discman that uses at least 30 hours out of your batteries.
