Bought a CD player, of another brand, locally, it didn't work at all right out of the box so returned it. Came to amazon and read the reviews of the CD players they carry and was not really impressed with most of them, this one had the best of reviews so I ordered it and it worked like a charm right out of the box. Unfortunately due to my own clumsy handling of the product I happen to drop it 5 times in a 2 day period, 2 of the drops really hard.
The hinge for the top broke on the second hard fall and I thought that I had seen the end of this great little thing----BUT NO--I pushed the play button and it went right on playing as if nothing had happened. It is still playing a week later flawlessly. I ordered a new one which arrived yesterday but haven't unpacked it yet, I am hoping that it is as good as the poor thing that I tried so hard to kill.

Incredible track record for something so abused, I take much better care of it now..love this little machine.

The product had a great review, so I thought I'd jump and get this.
I love cd players and had many.
This was by far the worst cd player I ever had.
I can't get it to show the battery meter.
The anti-skip makes it buzz in the headphones.
It is real annoying. It's not a soft buzz either. Sometimes it gets hard to hear the music especially if you are listening to softer sounding music.
I got mine from Ant-Online and the stocking free plus shipping would make me lose half of what I already paid.
Don't buy this!!!!

I like mine, I have it running on batteries and it last a long time on fresh batteries. I don't know how many hours but I say at least 5 hours maybe even closer to seven hours. I originally bought this to play my MP3 file CD's. YES it DOES play them!! Doesn't say here at the product description but it should. Anyway if you are looking for a player I'd say is close to perfect then get this, can't go wrong. The volume is good too but on mine I can't seem turn the volume down. Otherwise I do recommend this CD/MP3 player. A little idea too is; attach a mini speaker system to the earphone jack and you have yourself a little stereo system! A great travel idea.

I'm having a huge problem: mine (brand new) just suddenly cuts off, or rather, sound cuts off, disc continues spinning and then stops. Anybody know why this occurs or how to fix it?

this is a junk don't waste money on it the earphones suck you can put new batties in and 1 hour later they are dead

It is getting harder and harder to find a substantial CD walkman that I can stick in my pocket and go. I listen to audio books while doing chores. I also love my ipod, but if I fall asleep listening to a good book, it is harder to find my place. I also burn CD's downloaded from the internet. I have been using these in the car as I commute from NYC to New Hampshire frequently.

The GPX PC308B was such a disappointment. The ear phone went out immediately. The battery drained with only three hours of use .... and then it just stopped. It was a choice of "pause" (and the disk kept spinning) or "stop" ... at which point, the section of the book was not marked and I would have to re-listen to the beginning of that track. Actually, this was very annoying.

I am tossing this one out. I ordered a Sony D-NF340 this morning. Hopefully that one will work for me, I will let you know.

This CD Player works great for me and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased the GPX for a friend. She keeps raving about the great quality of sound, almost like her Bose. I purchased one and now I am raving about this baby.

I bought this for my mother based on the price and the review here that it plays mp3. It does not, i have tried 2 different brands of CD-R'S I have tired burning with and with out folders, and i have also tried track at once mode, or disc at once mode. nothing, works. I Would like to know if the above reviewer is mistaken in there review of another model, or what is the magic secretGPX PC308B Portable CD Player with 60 Second Anti-Skip Protection (Black) to get it to work? I Hope you can prove me wrong.

I bought this cd player for Mother's Day for my Mother. It quit playing within two days! My Mother does not drive so she cannot make it to the Post Office to return it so I can get my money back. Another Amazon customer had the same problem with this cd player. Buyer beware on this item!
