Amazon.com Product Description

Offering an inexpensive way to listen to music while you exercise, the GPX R2004SP AM/FM radio helps your mind stay focused on the bigger picture as your body starts to tire. The radio is designed with simplicity in mind, with a bold knob for flipping between the bands and an easy-to-adjust tuning mechanism. More importantly for joggers and workout fiends, the radio's lightweight-yet-durable housing is designed to endure bumps, shocks, and accidental drops. Simply attach it to your arm via the nylon armband--or conversely, to your shorts using the detachable belt clip--and you're ready to go. The radio's audio features are relatively straightforward, with a basic AM/FM tuner but no presets. It does, however, come with a pair of backstrap-style in-ear stereo headphones that fit snugly within the ear regardless of how hard you exercise. It's the perfect device for adding inspirational music to your workout routine without spending beyond your means. The R2004SP runs on two AAA batteries (not included) and measures 2.4 by 3.4 by 1.6 inches (W x H x D).

1.0 out of 5 stars Great price, but you get what you pay for., September 30, 2005
This review is from: GPX R2004SP Armband AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
Bought this for my wife for her AM workouts, as the club we belong to transmits the sound from the TVs on the wall via FM.

The arm band is too short. I can't even fit it around my bicep, and I'm no Mr. Universe. My wife could barely make it fit, but the strap fell apart after about a month anyway.

Then the low battery warning begin to flash with new batteries, and yet another fresh set would not make it go away. It would not power on anymore either.

Ours is in a landfill somewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad For The Price, August 9, 2005
This review is from: GPX R2004SP Armband AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
The sound is pretty good, with nice enough bass, and clear enough high notes.

The unit has problems with the reception at the high and low areas of the FM spectrum, with the stations near 88 and 105 and above not coming in very consistently.

Otherwise, it works pretty well.

The belt hook is o.k., but the arm band fell apart as I tried to put through the loops, making it useless.

It's hard to beat this little radio for the price though, if you're willing to put up with the above inconveniences.

2.0 out of 5 stars Digital Wins, March 18, 2006
This review is from: GPX R2004SP Armband AM/FM Radio (Electronics)
this radio explains why analog was replaced by digital. the purpose of my buying this radio was to use it while running. big mistake. being that it's analog not digital the station is not locked in and every little movement takes the station off.
