Misleading,
This review is from: GRANDTEC RFC-3000 Eyeseeall Wireless Webcam with Video Capture (Personal Computers)
I bought three of these 'wireless webcams'. I was searching for wireless webcams and their website kept coming up in my searches. When I checked their site it seemed to be what I wanted.1. The first thing that struck me is that all the instructions indicated that this was a security camera 2. There was nothing indicating how I should use it as a webcam 3. When I did install the drivers etc... I experienced interference with my Wireless Hub. This was not supposed to be a problem, since the system has multiple frequencies. IT ONLY works when I plug out my wireless hub In the end,I'm VERY VERY disappointed. I'm not in the US, and I can't imagine who I could sell this to.

This product is a waste of money. I returned it immediately. What initially interested me was that it was a cordless webcam, but it's only semi-cordless. You have to plug the camera into any outlet within range of the base. It's also packaged as a security camera to place anywhere in your home so you can remotely spy on a babysitter or snoopy roomie which would be good if the picture wasn't so terrible. I could barely see myself or anything else in the room even after fiddling with the settings.

Returned the product yesterday. The best resolution 640x480 is useless. The software is useless. USB interface was the only good idea.AXIS 207 looks like the best alternative, LAN or wireless network, 1280x1024, indoor use only or view through a window.

Understand what you are buying, you get what you pay for.,

This is 60+ feet away from the receiver and mounted outdoors inside an outdoor lamp fixture (removed bulb and receptacle). Yes there is noise in the video stream, yes the software functions are rudimentary but yes it has motion activation and reasonable camera resolution. It monitors the entire front of my home daily recording to an FTP server. Support is laughable, some guy in Texas who knows little about wireless, less about the product and nothing about Web delivery. It paid for itself the first week in operation and has been running without problem for over a year.

I have the camera set up in the bathroom to watch my two puppies. Picture is about the same quality as my logitech $30 webcam. The logitech came with software that you clicked a button and you were on the web for all to see (unless you set up as private). The wireless is set up maybe 25 feet away around corners so the remote link works to view on the same computer as the camera is signaling. However, I expected to be able to publish the webcam on the internet so that I can watch the puppies any time from any computer. There is no information on how to do so in the user guide. Follow up with the vendor Grand Tech gave me the first response of contact you web service provider we can't help you. Hopefully will get a better reponse to my reply to that note. I attempted to install the remote camera access on my work computer, but it doesn't work. I assume some type of firewall however I don't have another computer to test load to see if the remote camera even works. I would like my friends 1500 miles away to watch my puppies too. Finding some type of extention cord for my logitech NON-wireless camera would like have worked better. Compound this with delivery issues with supplier(Tiger Direct) arrived two weeks after time window provided and you think why bother! Maybe I am doing something incorrect or not computer savvy enough for this camera. I downloaded from downloads.com Simplecam (not associated with manufacturer nor vendor) and have been able to link it onto my personal website using the code provided with the Simplecam software. The software download was free. It works with MSN messenging; however, it gives you an error if you are still logged onto messenger and try to open camera directly even if you are not video messenging with anyone. Just shut down messenger as best I can tell. |
