My book arrived on Monday afternoon and I finished it Tuesday evening (even though I had a company dinner on Monday). The entire book captured my attention because I, too, was reared in a traditional church setting, much like the author's. Her admonition to read the Bible from cover to cover comes out loud and clear. I can testify that doing that many years ago changed my life, as it did hers.

The basic premise of Ms. Opper's book is that everyone should read the entire Bible for themselves. This is the ONLY way you will be able to discern truth from fiction in whatever church setting you find yourself. Don't depend on church doctrine or tradition or the vast influx of psychological books into the teaching of many churches. Depend on the Word of God.

The author has done a fantastic job of collating a lot of information and has done a great job in explaining the statemens and the Bible to back them up. As soon as I am done studying it, I am going to loan it to our Pastor as he has beem preaching on the same subject. DME
