5.0 out of 5 stars The amazing articles of HST..., August 17, 2009
This review is from: THE GREAT SHARK HUNT: STRANGE TALES FROM A STRANGE TIME. Gonzo Papers, vol. I. (Hardcover)
Hunter Thompson was considered to be an outstanding 'straight journalist' before the explosion of 'Gonzo' and all that came with it. This meant he researched, wrote and published accurate, well written articles for the publications that hired him. Among them, The National Observer, The Nation, The New York Times and Boston Globe. Thompson had a knack for sniffing around controversy, sometimes before it occurred. Many are included in 'The Great Shark Hunt'. Witness one trio of interviews that all came together at the 1970 Chicago Auto Show. Jean-Claude Killy, John DeLorean and O.J. Simpson. It's all here, and more. I highly recommend this for travel, as the articles are just long enough to get you from point to point without getting stale.
