Editorial Reviews

(1966) Horst Tappert, Hans Cossy, Gunther Neutze. This is a fascinating rendition of the true life story of the famous British train robbery from 1963. It is told in an almost documentary style from the point of view of the robbers. Offbeat, but very interesting. From 16mm.

This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

PLOT: MADE IN WEST GERMANY loosely based on the 1963 GREAT UK TRAIN ROBBERY.

1966 ~ based on the UK TRAIN ROBBERY~ in semi documentary style~ the "clever BRAINS" of the robbers thinks up a perfect train CAPER where they rob a money train ~ hide the loot and get away clean~ but the plot takes a turn for fun when 3 gangs "unite" ~

they pull off a robbery to clear 80 thousand pounds to 'finance' the train job.now onto the train job~ the gang get the train stopped and cleverly disconnects the car with the loot~ over an over pass~ toss the money into trucks and off into the night to the "hide out" a farm house rented in advance. as they count the loot and bicker~ the law is searching every where for them. this is fun~ as the gang continues to disagree on how to split up the loot~ they take a vote and the "brains" looses ~ some of the more stupid ones carry theirs "share" off in suits cases they have to hide due to road blocks. the "theme here being"~GREED~ every day people who give the police a tip and then "ask if they get the reward" add some funny highlights~ one by one the more greedy of the robbers are caught~ but in this version less than 10 % total loot is recovered and so of the robbers are never arrested. My personal favorite "spot" to hide the loot was in the grave yard~

this was orig shot in 16 mm film by a total WEST GERMAN FILM CREW IN GERMANY with some "UK" footage added. nicely "dubbed" into English. a clever fun watch. available via DVDR on demand and on Amazon on demand. I liked the amazon on Demand I purchased the DVD~ I GIVE IT 5 STARS FOR ENTERTAINING FUN TRAIN CAPER. ORIG A MINISERIES THIS VERSION has been trimmed to about 1 hour 20 minutes. FUN~
