The instrumentals on this cd are okay, but the vocals are just sickeningly sweet. I listened to the cd twice because I wanted to like it based on all of the glowing reviews it has gotten. The vocals, especially on Braes O' Strathblane, were so saccharine, I had to turn it off. Throwing in a few scottish pronunciations done in an American accent just made it worse. I regret I wasted my money on this treacle.

I bought this CD a little over a year ago, and I still listen to it several times a week. It almost sounds better each time I listen to it. I love the mix of traditional irish melodies with new instruments and with other genres of music. I've been listening to some of the free downloads, and am hoping Green Man will make another CD!

You will find that this is an amazing mix of celtic music with guitars and drums. A beautiful blend of traditional and non traditional which spices each and every song in this album. Soothing vocals adds to the already impressive sounds. They are definetely NOT a one hit wonder. A wonderful CD that I recommend to anyone that wants to go from the Orchestra to the EDGE!

Green Man is an outstanding musical creation that will keep you listening. Vocals by April are beautiful.

Listening to it is delightful and stimulating, plus the musicianship is superb.

Every tune is a gem-the first cut-'Spilkis'(my favorite)is brilliant. The haunting, seductive Eastern quality of 'The Shiny Penny' and other cuts like 'Mountain Walk' and 'Love is Done' puts this band in a new classification called neo-celtic. You won't be disappointed-this is intelligent and inspired music.

An evocative musical journey which will tug at your emotions and fill your spirit. This debut contains a perfect blend of traditional and progressive which will more than satisfy any discerning fan of Celtic music and make fans of those who are not yet familiar with the genre.

Melodic and lyrical, musically excellent with clear, touching vocals. This cd is a great introduction to the world of Celtic music for the uninitiated. The blend of modern instrumentation with traditional Celtic sound creates a beautiful new sound that will not disappoint the afficiando of this genre. Green Man takes the world of Celtic music to a new level. Great listening by any standard..... don't miss this one.

This group is not merely in the same category as Clannad, but can surpass them in talent and "enjoyability". Way to go, Ken, April, Doug!

After many years of enjoying Celtic sounds by many famous and not so famous groups this has to be the very best first effort bar none. The sound quality from a private label rivals that of the experienced professionals. The Selection of music is varied and offer the new listener to the wide variation offered by Celtic music.
