GRID™ Is all about the race- that period from lights to flag; full of tension, pressure, noise, and action.
GRID will take players to beautifully realised and dramatic race locations over three continents to compete in an unprecedented variety of racing events. Packed with the most powerful race cars – new and classic, circuit and drift – players will compete to conquer the most prestigious official race tracks and championships and then go beyond to compete in challenging city-based competitions, through to road events and urban street races.
In Europe, race gamers will compete on the greatest official tracks in prestige Marques including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani. Iconic cities across the U.S. – including San Francisco, Washington DC and Detroit and each with their own atmosphere and events – play hosts to diverse street races. Here, high-performance V8 muscle cars set the pace in aggressive closely fought pack competitions.
In the Far East, Japanese racing culture sets the tone where night races, including Drift racing, take drivers through neon illuminated cities and to outlying mountain roads. There is also the opportunity to compete in races that operate on the fringes of legality in the back streets and industrial areas of Yokohama.

A wonderful and enjoyable racer for the DS,

When it comes to street racing games for the DS, you don't have an awful lot of choices. Other than the Need for Speed series, there isn't much that's worth playing on the DS in this department, but thankfully, Grid manages to provide street racing gamers a pretty good time. Offering a decent amount of races, events, and options; Grid mixes elements of arcade racing with simulation as well, providing a pretty good experience. There's a great selection of licensed cars to pick from as well, and despite some occasionally odd graphical hiccups, they all look great for a DS game. In fact, Grid as a whole looks pretty good, with the surrounding areas looking fairly detailed. What really makes Grid worthwhile though is the robust track creator, which also allows you to share created tracks with friends via the DS' Wi-Fi capability. Multiplayer racing is a blast as well, offering a good amount of options and varieties. The only drawbacks to Grid includes the fact that the game as a whole just isn't all that hard once you get the hang of it. Not to mention that the game doesn't really have a great sense of speed to it, as you often feel as if you're not going as fast as you should be. Flaws aside though, Grid is a surprisingly wonderful racing game that DS owners should definitely check out whether they're into street racers or not, and as far as third-party published racing games for the DS go, you can't really do much better than what you find here.

Driving through the GRID,

GRID is an interesting game. It is a wonderful racing game that really shows what the DS is capable of. It allows for damage and the effects on how the car handles, and even allows you to tweak the cars performance some. It will not be mistaken for a game like Gran Turismo, since the depth is no where near that title. (C'mon, it's meant as a more arcade-style racer, you know that is why you would buy a title like this.) I am quite satisfied with it, since the arcadey type controls make driving the car easier then the drift-style cars of GT or any of Namco/Bandai's Ridge Racer titles. Overall, it is worth the money at $20, and even would have been worth it at 25 or 30. Overall, fun title.

Not for serious racers...,

First of all, I know this game is for DS but it has nothing in common with Need for Speed or even Mario Kart DS. Although there is a preety good selection of cool cars, you can do little more to customize them than changing their color. The cars handle ok but it is very easy to lose control of the cars and it is very frustrating to lose a race because the game made you wipe out and then try the same race over and over again. The only way you can unlock new cars or tracks is by racing on the same courses over and over again. Oh, and by the way the graphics are very dissapointing, even for DS. In my opinion, this game is just not worth the money, plus is very frustrating to play.
