I've only had it a few weeks but I really LOVE it so far! At first I used my regular brand coffee that was already ground, a few grounds got thru, maybe 3-4 (that I noticed, LOL), I was pleased with that when it stated it needed course ground coffee. Next time I was at the grocery store I bought my usual brand and used the grounder there, on course, its been perfect every time! I was advised I would have to get a home grinder, which some may prefer, but I love just heating up 10 oz. of water, adding coffee, stirring a few times, letting it sit for aprx. 4 minutes, run the press down and I have a very tasty cup of coffee. It is a breeze to clean, its compact, my small 4 cup coffee maker is getting put in the back of the cabinet!
I did state that I use 10 oz. of water, thats just the right size for me. I have made 20 oz., but I don't usually drink that much. I heat my water in a glass bowl/other container in the microwave, I did it once in the GROSCHE glass container and it seemed to have a hard time slipping into the plastic base. Just an FYI.
My only reason for giving it 4 stars is the edges of the fine mesh filter. It is openly exposed so I fear it can be easily bent. The edges of the filter run down the glass container to filter the grounds to the bottom, I'm concerned if it ever gets bent the entire coffee press will be ruined. I wish they had put a small rubber guard or something around it, but for the aprx. $10 I paid for it on special it is totally worth it!!
I am the only one who drinks coffee in my home and the 20 oz. GROSCHE coffee press has been absolutely perfect!
