If you are a cheapo like me you prob thinking you can get away with buying baby powder and save the $14 -$20 you are going to pay. Well, ill tell you what when I broke up one block of this (8 blocks per order) I realized I was going to have a lot of chalk for a long long time. I filled about 2 inches of a sandwich bag with just like about a 1/4 block and still thats a lot. Prob a 1/4 - 1/2 a block would last me 1 - 2 months using a moderate amount chalking up before every lift 3 days a week. Worst case scenario one order (8 blocks) should last you one year ! Do the math, even if u use a little bit more than 1/2 a block a month still thats about a year. Oh and it sure beats baby powder, baby powder is smelly and it gives u a soft grip. This chalk gives you a firm grip and does not have smell. Well if you are reading this review, do reviews on this or any other products because its what makes this work. I use to get lazy and not do them but I realized that there are people out there that help us by reviewing so the least you can do is help them by doing a review.

I can't understand why I lifted for so many years without this, particularly deadlifts.

Shipping was quick and the goods were exactly as ordered.

My wife and I have been climbing for about two months and went through our trial Black Diamond chalk balls that came with our harnesses. To replace it we ordered this chalk because it was cheap and essentially the exact same stuff (magnesium carbonate.)

First impression - there's a ton of this stuff. You receive 8 bricks and while each one weighs only 2 ounces it produces quite a bit once broken up. I used an old protein drink container to hold 4 after I smashed them and it was about half full.

On the walls - there was a certain quality to the Black Diamond chalk that this stuff seems to lack though once you get used to it it performs adequately. Additionally this stuff dries out the hands a bit more than the other chalk but when gripping a small crimp hold on an overhang or sloper it's usually good to have as little moisture as possible on your hands. I would say there is probably some sort of processing that black diamond does to their chalk that makes it feel the way it does but when all is said and done getting a pound of chalk for less than 15 bucks is a steal when it works as well as this stuff does.

For climbing there isn't a much better deal than this stuff. Most of the major manufacturers use the same ingredients as this stuff contains and want to charge you 3 times as much for the same amount. If you're not particular about your chalk you can't go wrong with this.

Why, this chalk is fabulous. The chalkiest chalk I ever chalked up with. All you chalk connoisseurs take heart, here is a gourmet chalk for us choosy weight lifters. My power clean is up 25% since I started using this chalk. Buy and enjoy.

When I started my strength training routine, it was suggested that I use chalk instead of gloves or straps. Not using gloves and straps can help develop grip, and so chalk is a good way to keep your hands dry and build your grip strength.

Since using it, deadlifts and power cleans have become so much more tolerable, and instead of being limited by hand pain, I'm only limited by how much weight my body can pull off the ground. I also believe that my grip has gotten stronger since using chalk.

Whether you buy this brand or not, you must make sure that it is magnesium carbonate. This is gym chalk. Any other compound is not, including bowler's rosin bags. Magnesium carbonate from Taiwan is the chalk that is made of win.

Performs excellently. Rubs onto hands easily yet doesn't crumble at the slightest touch. Great price when bought in bulk. No complaints.

This chalk has really helped with my grip on deadlift. If your serious about getting a strong grip on some of the major exercises I would recommend buying some chalk.

Received this chalk yesterday. Decided to buy this over the Eco-ball because not only is the eco rarely in stock, but had read reviews about the eco compound not coming off the hands so easily. Anyway, this chalk is good. Improves grip immediately and with the very least amount of chalk applied. I will try it out for deadlifts which was the main reason I got it. I didn't want to mask my grip with straps or gloves. I am sure this will work just fine. Did bent rows yesterday and through all the sets, did not have to re-apply.

One thing though, this removes all excuses for lifting, for a long time. You get a lot of it. And I used what amounted to about 3/4 of an inch of product. Maybe going in halfsies with a friend might be good for some.

Again, great product at a sick value.

Update: Used this for 1st time for Deads, and this chalk is ridiculous. Once you lift the weight, the bar just "digs" into your hand, no slip at all. And the best part, it reduces the chances of calluses and bleeding from calluses just because the bar does not slip. At least not for now. Can't believe I've lifted this long without using this.
