This table is adequate for camping, but a little too bulky for backpacking although it is light enough to strap to the outside of your pack. It is handy to have in your basecamp to put your stove and cooking utensils on so you don't have to set them on the ground or try to balance them on rocks. I was confused the first time I unfolded it; I couldn't seem to roll it back up the same way it came. The top sections are threaded together with shock cord and it folds back up accordion-style.
A nylon carrying case with drawcord and strap handle are included.

I whipped this baby out during a backpacking and sea cave kayaking trip to the Apostle Islands and my buddy said holy cr@p you brought a table!! It was pretty cool and kept my lunch out of the sand, dirt, and bumpy ground. Weighs almost nothing and didn't take up too much space. Way cool, I dig it. Would buy again!!!

This table is so cool, It is smaller than you would think, Even after reviewing the listed size I was still surprised at it's compactness. It is light enough for backpacking and convenient enough for car camping. GSI makes a quality product and you can't go wrong with anything they produce. Packaged up it is smaller than a one person tent when packed. I plan to use it for cooking with my backpacking stove rather than placing the stove on the ground. It is a nice addition to your gear especially if you are comfort driven like me.
If are an Ultralighter or Minimalist, It may be more than you are willing to carry. Very light though. I love it!!

I have a friend who owns some of these for camping. I had to have some. They work great for all kinds of things and fold up nice and small. I use one for my Big Buddy Heater to keep off the tent floor. Also as a nightstand next to the air mattress for my flashlight or book, etc. For home use they can be used for a buffet style meal to raise some dishes up. There are just many uses for these tables. I love them. Sherry:)

Sturdy, lightweight, aluminum micro table,

Been slowly putting together a tailgating/camping kit, and one area of concern was that there's never enough surface area to work with. My camping grill takes up space, food prep, a place to put my drink. I inevitably put my food plate down on the parking lot or camp ground floor. So, out I went to look at a few different table options.
I got this on from GSI as well as the larger aluminum table from them. I use the larger one to elevate my grill off the floor and like having an aluminum table vs any plastic table to handle my heat source. I use this micro table more for inbetween my camp chairs, to hold plates, my beer, etc. These things are pretty slick. They come with a nice carry case. You unfold them accordion style and have to slide these two rods into the holes in the slats. This can be a bit tricky, while the shock cord holds the slats together, the holes move around enough so that it's not a "unroll and go" type install. Takes a little time and patience. The legs fold out and can be extended with another foldout piece. This is a low, small table, so, don't think you put your chair up against it and eat off of it. But, it's like having a nice little nightstand by your chair. You reach down, pick up your plate or your drink...and it works great. Aluminum is lightweight and strong. The hardest thing is keeping the kids off it, as, at the height it's at, they want to climb or sit on it. Packs up small. It's a great little table that works well in concert with other portable tables I wouldn't consider it "the one stop solution" for a family or tailgate scenario. But, solo, or two people, it's definitely a bonus area to keep food off the floor.

Table too micro to be worth bringing,

I wanted a little table to bring backpacking and I first got this table but it was too small to be worth bringing along. For another 1.5 pounds, get the Macro version. It is totally worth bringing along on short backpacking trips!

I love this little "backpacking" table, although it hasn't actually made it backpacking yet!
I use this ALL THE TIME for a little table for my computer, like a lap (TV tray style) work desk. It is great as the aluminum helps keep the computer cooler. It works better when laying in bed for this purpose as it is slightly more narrow than my thighs. I also have the next size larger GSI table, but that is a bit too large to use as a TV tray/work desk. I am very happy I have both, but find I use the little micro much more. So much, in fact, it rarely gets folded up. Strong, Sturdy, lightweight and multi-purpose... that's why I would rate it 4.5 stars. It would be a perfect 5 stars if it was one inch wider (or my thighs 1 inch smaller!) Both sizes also be great for outdoor festival concerts or beach trips or anywhere you need a level surface for drinks/snacks.

Perfect mini table in a bag : cookstove support & picnic table.,

This is one practical little table that is easy to set up and pack up. Sized similar to a medium dinner tray, I have used this table on picnics, outdoor music festivals, on the beach and of course camping and RV-ing.
For RV parks, this table is the perfect size as a short side table between 2 camp chairs to hold drinks and snacks. The table consists of aluminum slats that are bungee-d together with the foldout legs permanently attached to the slats on each end. Once unfolded, there are 2 stainless rods that slide across through the slats through pre-drilled holes. These rods form the support for the table and have notches on both ends to secure the legs once they are folded out and also double as finger grips come packing time. The legs then fold out once to the first level and again to the second level. As a result of this leg design, the first height is more sturdy than the second. To pack up the table, simply do everything in reverse: fold up the legs, pull out the support rods, and fold the slats accordion-style. Lastly, slide everything into the provided bag. The confusion seems to be that the manufacturer packs the slats differently to protect the legs during shipping. The correct way to repack the slats is the accordion folding method :) I love that the table is lightweight and rolls up into a bag I can easily sling over my shoulder along with my camp chair. There are also other larger folding tables for more people, or more stuff by GSI GSI Outdoors Macro Table or the one just like the table Crate & Barrel carries Table in a Bag W2716 Portable Table with Carrying Bag, Brown. My only dislike is that the second height isn't very secure on anything but level ground and there doesn't seem to be anything in the design of this table to deal with that issue.

Works great as a fold up table. Very small and light. I wanted something small for inside our tent to put drinks on or a fan and this works amazing without taking up much space in the car.

This table is very small and made of a light-weight and sturdy aluminum, but it's perfect for your backpacking "kitchen" or as an "end table" next to the camp cot to set your glasses, flashlight and LED lantern on. It has a nice little carry bag and it folds up to a compact size. This table is light enough for sea kayak camping, backpacking or for any rough camping when a bit of table space is a luxury. I love it!
