This review is from: GSI High Grade Sturdy Steel Articulating Full-Motion Dual Arm Wall TV Mount with Tilt and Swivel Functions - for Plasma/LCD/LED/TV/DVD/Combo/Blu-Ray Flat-Panel Monitors/Screens/Displays, Mounting Brackets Fits 32-Inch to 55-Inch Screens (Electronics)
i used this mount for my 50" samsung and am sooo happy. it holds it securely but i can move it up, down, left or righ. there are so many different positions i can put my tv in. the install was fairly simple. i just took my time and had it done within 1 hour. very straight forward...drill holes in wall (stud or anchor) and screw in bracket with lugs, attach brackets to back of tv and hang...done
i would be pleased to answer any questions, just email me... definetly will buy another for my other tv...

After two months of research, including Amazon and other website searches and a dozen trips to stores, this GSI full motion mount is really the best despite some annoying and unresolveable problems. My 47" TV was on a table and I needed to mount it on the wall. Given my living room shape and dimensions, I wanted a mount to turn right and left. Tilt was not important and I needed a stiff-hinged mount so the TV wouldn't be flung out by passing children and damage a wall or them. This mount met all those requirements even though it does tilt up and down, too. The quality of construction is superb, and it seems very sturdy. The metal was evenly painted and there were no scratches or exposed burrs one often finds in imported metal products. The price was at least $20 less than the nearest similar model (and no tax or shipping costs). However, this is an Amazon-shipped product, and that's where the problems began. The mount arrived on time in a giant box with a bit of crumpled paper inside, along with a 3-in-one tightly packed group of boxes. When I opened all of the boxes, I found that this behemoth steel mount had crushed two of the four plastic knobs which adjust the tilt. There were also no instructions, and although the installation looked simple, I wanted to do it right. I contacted Amazon, and because it was not an outside seller, I couldn't get replacement parts and had to send the whole thing back. There were also no instructions anywhere on-line and I couldn't find anything at GSI's website since they carried other products, but not this mount. I reordered from Amazon and the new mount arrived, much better packed in a smaller box in a box in a box. However, again one of the adjustment knobs was damaged, cracked in half. It was still useable, but the knob looked bad. There were instructions this time, so I went ahead and installed it. I tried harder to locate GSI, and reached a dead end. The GSI website customer service email response I sent bounced back as undeliverable. A company at the same address that sold similar things had a real phone number. I called and talked to their tech support. He didn't know anything about this product, and had never seen anything similar, saying they only sold stereo equipment, not mounts. So, I contacted Amazon customer service. The guy was very friendly and tried his best, but here were the dead-ends: Amazon can't let customers contact their captive sellers directly, so customer service offered to take it back again (I didn't want to do that, especially since it was already on the wall) or send an email to the distributor for me. I chose the latter and cs sent GSI my contact info and a detailed email, but I did not hear anything further from GSI. I still recommend the mount, but be prepared to keep sending it back or, better yet, order two, cannibalize them for four good knobs and return one! OK. On installation, it is very hard to intall this yourself. I am strong, but it is larger than you think, and my son was home, so we did it together and that was a struggle, but it went well. Use your own 3-foot level if you have one. The small spirit level that comes with the mount is accurate but you do not want to level the heavy mount while holding it to the wall, so disregard the instructions on this point and start this way: Mark a spot for one top hole in a stud, use your long level or their level and a yardstick to get another hole on the adjoining stud 16" (or whatever) apart, then measure and mark the two bottom holes under the top ones with the level vertical. Lift the mount to the wall and make sure all four holes line up with the slots. Then drill the holes and use the lag bolts to attach it. Another problem is that the instructions say to use "lockwashers" provided in the parts bag to attach the tv to the mount. There are no lockwashers. There are small flat washers which can easily slide through the slots where they attach (they are too small) and small crushable washers which will pull through the slots as the screws are tightened. In my case the screws were too long for the screw holes on my tv, so I used my own thicker and bigger spacers to make a tight fit. Also, where the holes lined up, the brackets on the mount had to be taken apart to reach those crews (and the instructions are silent about that). Finally, the optimal height from the mount required me to block one of the three HDMI ports on the back of my TV. If I ever need that port, I will saw off the bottom of the bracket. After installation, the mount articulated very stiffly (which is what I wanted) and it didn't fold all the way back to the wall, so istead of under 5" from the wall, it puts the TV at 6-7" out, but that also is better for my needs. I will also start running to hardware stores looking for a replacement for that cracked knob. Ok, so what's the bottom line? This is a great mount, it works well, it appears indestructible, except for the plastic knobs, and it looks good, too. I would certainly buy another one if I needed it. Just realize that for this great price, you will likely have to improvise on the instructions, finesse the plastic knobs, and bribe a strong friend to help you put it up. My suggested tools are: stud finder, phillips screw driver, drill, big level, and extra washers. Enjoy.

purchased this product ~1 month ago for my brother as a gift. he has a 400sq ft apartment and needed to save floor space by not having to use an entertainment center. he had the bracket installed along with his 42 in TV. it looks great! the bracket is very flexible making it possible to watch TV from any area of the apartment.
