I needed this product becauce my tv only has 2 hdmi ports and I have 4 devices that use hdmi.

1)xbox 360
2)dvd recorcder
3) hi def cable box
4) upconverting dvd player

this little gem of a product was able to get all the devices working using only the two ports I had available.

The smart switch actually does a good job at turning on the right product when you turn on a specific device.

Another point is the product is actually much smaller and compact then I thought, slightly larger than a matchbook.

I was able to hook all the cables to it and velcro it to the side of the tv and I have manual access to the switch if needed without it being an eysore. It now lurks and performs unoticed. I also have not noticed vido quality issues since installing the switch.

I would recommend this product in a heartbeat ! It solved my dilema better than expected.

This thing is junk. I plugged my xbox, PS3, and Apple TV into it and the only thing that worked was the xbox.

The PS3 the video and audio would cut every few seconds, and the Apple TV flat out didn't work.

Leads me to believe they are not 1.3 compatible, despite the marking on the box. Returning this item, I wish I could rate it zero stars.

The video quality of this device is great. And if you're willing to get up and manually switch over to different HDMI inputs you won't have an issue with this device. However, I have a DirectTV, Apple TV, and Panasonic Blu-ray player and the automatic switch over feature does not work for any of these devices. It remains on the same input no matter what device you turn on. The remote is very cheap (a credit card remote) and mine only works within 2-3 feet of the device. I tried a Harmony One remote in conjunction with a Logitech Harmony IR Extender System and the HDMI switch IR system is very flaky. Sometimes it picks up the signals and other times it doesn't. All of the other devices work great accept this one. Overall a frustrating experience so far due to the IR and auto detect issues.
