4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR QUICK MINI MEALS
I think this cooker is very good for the kids to make afterschool snacks and if you are crunched for time in the mornings and would like to have a quick breakfast on the go. The only negative thing I can say about this machine is that the wells are smaller than what they appeared on tv. But this product is still worth the money.

Worked great when I first got it. After about two weeks the no stick surface started to wear and the food began to stuck to the surface. Not recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!!!, March 4, 2005
This review is from: GT Express 101
I bought this and was not happy with the small wells. I also thought they looked bigger. I followed the directions for oiling it and the first thing I made stuck. The coating was chipping off when I went to wipe down after that FIRST USE. I found it real hard to clean. I then tried a muffin mix and they took forever to cook through and when they did the top and bottom of the muffin were hard and burnt. The recipes were good though. I sent it back the day after it arrived. I normally perservere but the chipped coating was not a good thing.

1.0 out of 5 stars In a word , "Junk"., July 10, 2006
This review is from: GT Express 101
I am the gaget guy in our house , you name it and i got . This looked real neat and kinda handy to make a quick meal or snack. With Cathy Mitchell endorsing the product , i shoulda known better . She is the all time great snake oil hukster(buddy do i got a deal for you). I was in the QVC outlet and saw one for 20 bucks , so i bought it .I followed the simple instructions , seasoning the two non-stick wells (right!!!), and then using a product like Pam for the first dish. I made poached eggs. First problem was getting the eggs out of the two wells with the goofy tool they provide , second problem was they stuck to the bottom of the wells. After a struggle getting the eggs onto my plate the result was something that looked my dog threw up after a big night out with the boys and the unit was a mess to clean up . Thanks Cathy you got me again.Maybe the garbage guys will have better luck , cause that's where the GT 101 Express is laying as i write this review,in the trash can.

2.0 out of 5 stars A neat toy. Not a real kitchen tool, January 12, 2005
This review is from: GT Express 101
This product has no real applications for family dining. I'm a bachelor and although I've only had it for two days, I feel I can say that.

The problem is it's not large enough. the first thing I noticed was how shallow and narrow the wells are. They look a long bigger on televison and, in my opinion, are about 1/3 smaller than they should be. I'm not a big eater and so far, each time I've made myself a meal, I've been slightly hungry after.

Other than that it seems to work fine. But if you're thinking it will be a great way to cut down on cooking time with your family, forget it. It cooks for strictly one person.

Is it worth 50 bucks? Sure. I'm having fun with it and glad I bought it. But when my girlfriend comes over I'll stick to the stove and microwave. If you're the kind of person who likes hearty meals like big cheeseburgers, meatballs and spagetti, meatloaf, etc, you'll soon grow bored with this, or maybe just use it in the morning to make an egg mcMuffin or someting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it from as seen on TV., March 27, 2007
This review is from: GT Express 101
I have been watching this item on TV for more than a year and waiting for it to be in the stores or on Amazon.never seen it. I am obcessed with cooking and don't have time . so finally I bought it and got after may be a month. the wells are very small , I think it is better for a snack, but the main issue is I bought it from as seen on tv, and boy was I stupid?
it cost me 83$!!, 33$ S&H. why? because the 2nd one has an additional S&H fee they don't mention that is 14.99$, they also sent a few little receipe booklets for 9.95$ that I didn't ask for, with subscription to receive more for 3.5$ monthly.
so please be careful, go buy it from ebay, I might sell the 2nd one there, or return the whole damn thing. because that was deceiving and stealing. I tried twice till now, vegetables weren't cooked in the middle, pita pocket was wet.. I will give it another try and let y'll know.
Ok, I tried it with fish and chicken (like tenders), cooked well and quickly, one small serving at a time, it is sitting in my cabinet now.
update: can't believe how low the price went, anyway, even omelet didn't cook well and took forever, so IT IS A PEICE OF JUNK.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a piece of doo doo, April 28, 2007
This review is from: GT Express 101
* Cooks chicken breast hard & burnt on the outside & nice and raw in the middle.
* No temperature controls, so be carful reaching around it to unplug it cus you can get burned on the exposed back panels.
* Looks bigger on Tv, its tiny and there aint enought space in wells.
* Doesn`t get hot enought to sear.
* Clean-up is not exactly as they say it is on Tv, make sure you use cooking spray top & bottom.
* Over a very short period of time (like 2 months)the enamel o the grill will start showing wear, where its rubs off.
~Hope this helps~

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT investment..., January 6, 2007
This review is from: GT Express 101
This is a wonderful product. The only negative comment I have, is that it is smaller than what I saw on tv.

Other than that, everything we have cooked in it comes out fantastic. Clean-up is a snap. For anyone having problems with sticking, just make sure you pre-treat it, like the instructions specify. And I spray Pam (butter flavor) on the top AND bottom ahead of cooking each and every item. If you STILL have problems sticking after that, after the unit cools slighty, put a couple tablespoons of water in each well, and close the lid. The warm steam, will help soften any hardened food, and it will wipe right off.

One other thing. When I ordered the Express 101, I expected to have to wait for it. I got it in less than a week. I was shocked, but VERY happy.

So, all I can say is ENJOY. And be creative...we've gone beyond the great cooking book included. By the way, all the recipes in IT, are wonderful.

1.0 out of 5 stars TEFLON COATING CHIPPED OFF IMMEDIATELY!!!, September 18, 2008
This review is from: GT Express 101
The GT Express is a great idea, but is VERY POORLY MADE IN CHINA. Immediately after I started using it, the teflon coating began coming off. I've had it a month now and it is chipping off badly in both wells and in the middle.

I would encourage anyone NOT to buy this product but wait until a quality manufacturer makes a product like this one with a teflon coating that doesn't immediately come off.

I should have checked Amazon for the reviews before buying this worthless piece of trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for dieting, October 25, 2008
This review is from: GT Express 101
I am dieting and this product is perfect for portion control. I made chicken breast with fresh spinach, provolone cheese and onions for my first meal in this cooker and in 15 minutes I had a fabulous meal. The chicken was moist and I could not believe how flavorful this dish was without using any spices at all. I put the onions under the chicken rather than in it so the would cook through. In 30 minutes I can have a main dish for a family of four completed. The wells are supposed to be small, for the food to cook right it must touch the top and bottom surface. I followed the directions and oiled the wells before my first use and had no problems with sticking or clean up. I will have to wait and see if the non-stick coating holds up. I'm going to enjoy this product.
