I'm not sure what some reviewers here expected. Maybe if they'd actually read before they download, problems would be avoided. After initial download, it's about a 0.68 GB download with a good, constant WiFi connection. If you don't have the space or a good connection, don't bother.

This is not a casual racing game. If you are looking for a "Mario Kart" type game, try Mole Kart. If you want fun but completely unrealistic racing, by all means get Need for Speed Most Wanted. BUT, if you want and enjoy a racing SIMULATION...like Gran Turismo, this is for you!

In a nutshell, this IS "Gran Turismo" for Android. Start off with a crappy shoebox car, acquire your different licenses, earn money through races, upgrade and get better cars.

This game is actually very forgiving. You can tweak steering, braking, traction control, etc. to accommodate your lack of driving skills. I screwed up, a few times, on different challenges for licenses and still passed.

The AI seems a bit weak...I've been winning almost every race so far. The graphics are very nice. The controls are pretty sensitive but again - you can tweak a lot in this game!

This is by far the best driving simulation on the Android market I've found to date. If you have the Kindle Fire HD version, by all means take advantage of it and plug in to your TV via HDMI output.

I rarely give 5 stars to any game or movie...this is close but not perfect. A well-deserved four stars!

A great game by Gameloft. One of their best, but I been having a problem. I`ve been using the "screen keys" option to accelerate, and at random times(usually when I`m about to win, arrrgh!), they stop working and I slowly putter to a stop. Also, when I use the " screen wheel" steering option, it glitches and I swerve to the side at about the same time. Wondering if it`s my Otterbox or the game. But dont let that stop you! This is an excellent game!

Well, the career is fun I guess. You can see for yourself when playing. Worth downloading and playing since it's free. After you get used to tilting to steer and such (I only ever played racing games on consoles before) and ignore the fact that they start by making you take a class c license test (which is in poor taste imo) you'll have some fun and realize how easy it is. THe physics aren't too bad for on-road racing in this game. One bit of advice: ignore the "best line" thing on the ground unless you're a small child or are completely usiless at racing games. You'll get a better time by going with your intuition. The best line is often inaccurate, doesnt always set you up properly for the next few consecutive turns, and wants you to slow down more than needed. I turned all the driver aids completely off personally. They attempt to brake for you and ish which is really annoying if left on full.

But let me get straight to the flaws. One: many vehicles and vehicle upgrades cost "$" instead of credits. They're not actual dollars but in-game dollars and you only start out with 12 I think. It's clear that they want you to spend actual money to get them, as that's about the only way possible to get more of them... you'll see them accumulate by one or two over a very long period for seemingly random reasons. Now, on to the physics. Now did they screw the pooch with this game! On-track physics aren't too bad. Definitely good enough to get used to it and have some fun, save one thing: Braking. For some reason the brakes are practically dead on most cars. Picture bringing a first generation Dodge Charger from 80 to a complete stop. The brakes are like bubblegum. It makes no sense that they are so weak. Esp once you get as low as 40-50 MPH.... Seems to take an age to stop from those speeds. (which reminds me: when slowing down like crazy for real sharp corners be prepared for some fualty physics. Also let off the brake and start turning by about 40 or so for pretty much any corner, even if (going by the braking) it seems you'll crash into a wall. You won't. THe cars turn much better than they stop at these speeds. It's odd. You'll get what i mean here after you start playing.)

On to the real problem: rally/ off road driving. It's abysmal. It's clear that the physics engine can't handle it. If they left rallying out of the game completely they'd get a much higher review from me because they simply haven't gotten in right. You can't powerslide... you know, throw the front end in the ride the throttle sliding through the corner using the throttle to straighten yourself out and propel down the track. Works in games like Gran Turismo or Forza. Works in driving simulators, works even in real life (I've done it safely on several occasions - autocross in the snow or on dirt courses). Anyway for some reason this game cuts the throttle upon attempting a powerslide or even just throwing the nose toward the apex of the corner whether the traction control is on or OFF! But it gets worse, not only does it cut the throttle for no apparent reason but there is an unexplained force that defies all laws of physics and brings the car almost to an utter halt if you start to slide it at all (off road). Makes no sense. Try it sometime, you'll see what I mean. So to rally in this game, think more along the lines of Ken Crap, not Ken Block.. you have to attempt to rally taking a traditional line through any corner as if on tarmac. Traditional for on-road racing that is, not rallying. Which defies all instinct and reason. And even that is all wrong. Upon exiting many a corner your car will start to insanely throw itself side to side for no apparent reason. Even if you exit the corner with the cars attitude right and are steady. Even if you then let off the gas, counter steer or not, the car will wave side to side frantically down the straight like a boat caught in a hurricane. Again it defies all known physics or any form of reason- it's just plain wrong. So if they threw out the rallying(or called up the Gran Turismo developers and begged for some help on how to fix it), made everything cost credits not cash, and made the braking on most cars more realistic it'd be a much better game. As it is though and largely because of the rallying (and somewhat because of the dependence on the all too elusive in game cash) 2 stars. Maybe three because it's free

PS. For the accelarete then brake in a straight line license test: they don't mean accelerate to the top speed of the car, they mean accelerate to as fast as you can before having to brake, stopping in the designated area. I thought this was obvious, but i saw by some reviews that people actually tried taking the cars to their top speeds for these tests.

Also, the game is rather easy. There were very few races that provided me with any real challenge to place first. THen again, i always do really well in racing games. Got all golds in little time on the license tests EXCEPT FOR RALLY TESTS! lol. But for the full-lap license tests in either C, B, or A (haven't gotten S yet) i finished a good 5-12 seconds earlier than the time required for a gold medal. They're too easy. Except for the rally test I think I managed a silver after a lot of effort. Not being able to get a gold inspired me to write this review about how god-awful rallying is in this game. Not just becuase i couldn't make a gold, but because the physics suck and that aggrivated me the most.
Oh and often times one can get a better lap time by entering a corner a bit too fast even if it means sacrificing some speed down the straight. Doesnt always work out this way (and frankly, never should) but for some reason in this game it does.
I'd call it driving simulator-esque. lol. Not a driving simulator per-se, but not a bad effort (excluding rallying)

PPS The graphics are indeed good. Esp for the backrounds and the tracks and such. THe graphics for the cars lack some detail and seem askew for SOME models, but overall are pretty decent. Definitely clear. Read more ›

This racing game is great!!!! the steering is difficult, but other then that it's great. don't listen to these people who gave bad reviews:( if you don't like racing then something is wrong with you. "RACING IS GREAT'!!!!!
