I bought this to charge my Kindle and LG cell phone in the car. It is in no way limited to charging the products listed in the description. What it does is to convert the power available in a car into the power available at computer USB ports (but, of course, with no data). A sticker on the item says "5.0 volts at 1000 mA". I measured the voltage at 5.25 volts, but that's OK. As to 1000 mA, this is surely more than anyone is going to need and I don't think I'd try to draw that much current in case the thing heats up (for the price, it must be just a linear regulator and the voltage difference between the car and the output just produces heat proportional to the current you draw). Also, the connector is a full-size USB type A jack, not a Mini-USA jack as the description would suggest. I'm using the cable that came with my Kindle. The device is solidly built, although very light, and plugs firmly into the car. The USB connection is a bit tight, but I can't see any problem with that. All-in-all, I'm very pleased. It was delivered by air-mail directly from China but arrived in two weeks, well before the promised date.

The picture shown for many products for iphone 4 accessories on Amazon.com are not what you'll receive. This includes this GTMax charger. I ordered two of these from HandHeldItems and received two chargers for Motorola phones with the micro-B connector. I truly wish Amazon would create and enforce the policy of vendors showing the correct picture for items or kick them out.

I purchased this charger a few days back for use with my iPhone4. When I plugged it in to my car the "red" LED light comes on but the phone does not charge. I tried using it with my wife's LG Cosmos but it does not charge either.

Although the sale price of this item will draw alot of people in, the shipping time and cost are horrible. I used the first adaptor for 2 days until the usb port became too loose to sucessfully plug my charger into. There is no heat dissipation either. Expect this charger to overheat quickly.

I had alot of reservations of this product before i bought it, but i figured it was cheap enough to gamble on it and purchase it. I 100% regret it. This USB charger did work when i first received it, but after 3 uses in my car, it just stopped working. I probably charged my Ipod and my phone a total of 30 or 40 minutes before this thing crapped out on me. Do yourself a favor and buy a real USB car charger. This thing will break very fast, and possibly blow out your cig lighter fuse. save your money, dont buy this garbage. its built to break, and break quickly.

I bought this for my new iPhone 4. I worked great for about a week, and now it will not work at all.

I suppose I did get my .01 cents worth out of it.

My first review.
This little guy works like a charm. looks nice on the dashboard and is a great for any usb powered devises. like i said bought 3 and i will get my moneys worth in not time. pair it with Data cable for iPhone / iPod by etec and you got a new charger for 5.20 cents for the iphone vs 60 from apple.

So far this works fine, charges my iphone 4S which was the main reason I got it. It will also charge my ipod, but it does not charge my first generation Ipad.

Great value! Much cheaper than most other car chargers. Small and fits easily for storage. Just don't forget to take your USB cable!

It worked great for me for about 6 months, and probably would've worked longer if I hadn't opened it up and replaced the LED with a wire to power an FM transmitter in addition to my phone. It lasted a month after that, but I was probably drawing too much current from it. It finally died (and became very hot to the touch) towards the end of a 24hr road-trip from NY to Florida. Still, considering all the abuse it went through, I'm impressed it even lasted that long.
