All I wanted was to be able to transfer data between my new Samsung Solstice and my computer -- and that's exactly what this product let's me do. I could do without the CD, though -- there's really no need for any extra software here (no, you don't have to install anything to be able to transfer data, but they still provide you a CD with software to install anyway -- just throw it out and be on your way).

I consider myself pretty "tech savvy" and so do most people I know, and I found it hard to install, maybe because I tried it on mac, and Windows 7? At the end I threw away the disk, and found a driver, and a device manager online for it, YAY INTERNET!

I gave it 4 stars, because the cable is ok, but it has been useless so far for me. Eventhough i knew it didn't come with the software, the picture of the software disc is kind of misleading having you believe the software is easy to come by. I looked all over the net for free software specificaly to copy pictures from my old samsung r340, no such luck.

This cable connects my A887 Solstice to a USB port satisfactorily! A cable that costs less than $20 that works as stated! I did not, however... receive the bloatware CD. Oh dear, oh dear.

PPS I may have been unfair. Quite possibly the CD just contains the driver for the phones the cable can interface with. Regardless, I didn't need it.

The cable does what it is supposed to do although the program on my disc didn't work for my SAMSUNG SOLSTICE SGH-A887. HERE IS HOW YOU CAN USE THE PROGRAM WITH A SOLSTICE. Go to samsung's website find your phone on the products list and click it then on the phones page click downloads pick one of the solstice's listed it doesn't matter which and then there is a software and hardware tab find the one that says PC Studio and then another one for the drivers if the driver is not there then google it.

I absolutely love this cable cord. I just discovered downloading music from computer to mp3 players so I just adore this cable cord. It comes in handy when u want to transfer info between cell phone and computer. I would definetely recommend this product to others.

Data cable allows my Mac to see the memory card on my Samsung Gravity 2 as an external drive just like any other USB memory card/stick;
can move files in either direction.
(The Gravity 2 only connects the memory card through the USB cable, but files can be moved to and from the phone memory once downloaded.)

it came with the cable and no cd, but it works great. Everything transfers quickly and smoothly with no problems, it even charges the phone while plugged into USB so it can be used as a spare charger. Shipping was fast and everything was good.

No fuss no muss! Connected my phone to my computer and down loaded all my photos,plus. No taking out the mini SD card. A super product for a 72 year old guy who is technically challenged. Where's is this spell ck?
