Book Description

Gurps February 1, 2003
They were the Greatest Generation. When the world itself was in danger, they manned the front lines, drove the tanks, landed on the beachheads . . .
They were the dogfaces.
Dogfaces is the definitive roleplaying sourcebook for U.S. ground forces in World War II. Whether it's storming the beaches of Normandy, outdueling German tanks in the Ardennes, or retaking the Pacific island by island, the infantry, armor, and artillerymen of the U.S. Army and Marines were the backbone of the Allied war effort. With the attention to detail and historical accuracy that GURPS is known for, Dogfaces gives you all the information you need for roleplaying this vital part of mankind's greatest conflict.

5.0 out of 5 stars Historically Current and Relevant, July 29, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: GURPS WWII: Dogfaces (Paperback)
This book begins with an allusion to the current events in the world, and then goes into greater detail about the minute-by-minute events of World War II from the American point-of-view than any other sourcebook or work of history I've seen. From reading other WWII books, I've come to understand the history of the period, but as I read DOGFACES, I feel closer to the men and events of the war. This will greatly help me in my WWII GURPS sessions, and in my understanding of WAR itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dogfaces Rules!, July 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: GURPS WWII: Dogfaces (Paperback)
I have read through this book a couple of times now and I must say that it was even better the second time (an impressive feat). Dogfaces was impressive in blending the historical WWII with information allowing you to simulate that history. One of my favorite GURPS characters these days is a WWII U.S. Army captain I created using the info from Dogfaces and this author's previous GURPS book "Hand of Steel" (as well as the GURPS:WWII source book and the rest of the core books of course). I can't wait for Mr. Fisher's next book, whatever it may be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dogfaces rocks!, May 6, 2003
This review is from: GURPS WWII: Dogfaces (Paperback)
I have a copy of this book and have read it cover to cover. It was the most enjoyable history read I have had in a long time. The details added in brought things to life in a way textbooks do not. Oh and as a game system book - the rules are clear cut and the background information to make your game realistic is plentiful. :-)
