Gabrialla Postpartum Body Shaping Girdle-(perfect for after C-Section)

My daughter had a c-section 3 days ago and mentioned the day after that her doctor suggested a girdle. I came home and did a search on Amazon and found this. Since there was no size chart I took a stab and ordered a large figuring it would be easier to go down in size if I was wrong rather that have her trying to squeeze into something too small. Well turns out I was right on the money!! These run small so if you or your daughter is normally a size 8 or so GET THE LARGE!. I paid extra for one day shipping and we got it today and I took it up to the hospital. Although it took me, her, and husband as a team to get it on her, (only because of the pain issue, not the girdle's fault), she IMMMEDIATELY sighed a big sigh of relief and said "OMG!!!! THIS FEELS LIKE HEAVEN!!!". She said it made everyting feel secure and took the pressure off of her back instantly. When she laid on her side, she didn't feel pressure on her stitches. She said she was going to be excited to share this with everyone she knows!! I checked in with her tonight 7 hours later and she said it felt even better tongight!

5 weeks into my 3rd c-section recovery and needed something to help my recovery and give me abdominal support. I tried a abdominal band from the hospital, but that kept riding up and digging into my ribs and below my breast area whenever I sat or slept. I chose this because I knew it would not ride up. I think the item is well made and does give support. However, the sizing is really off. I am normally a size 4 or 6, weighing 120lbs. I was 152 right before my c-section. I am now 138lbs. I have normal size hips and waists - not skinny but not huge either. I ordered a small at first and was barely able to pull it past my mid thigh area because the waist band is so small. I eventually struggled into it just to see if it would be tolerable and although the tummy area felt very supported, the waist area was so tight I felt like I couldn't breathe properly. Then I tried the medium - struggle a little to pull it past my hips. It feels fine at the upperwaist band but slightly looser around the mid-section.

If they only constructed it with some way to adjust the upper waist band to make easier to put on and wear, or had some way to make the mid-section area adjustable to be slightly tighter or looser, then I would give this a 5 star. I think this girdle is supportive and love that it stays in place, but I really have to wonder from whose body the prototype was created. After spending this much money on it, i think in a few weeks the medium will be too loose to support the one area I need most support - my abdomen.

Wish I would have had this in the hospital. It really helped cut down on the discomfort, especially from anything rubbing against the incision. It provided nice support!

I purchased these after my c-section as I had heard that it helps with healing and has made others feel secure after such a surgery. I can't see how it had any actual benefits, and it wasn't any different than a cheap shaper panty that can be purchased at a big box chain for way less. These are good shaping panties, but definitely not worth the price and I saw no actual performance to back up the "perfect for after c-section" claims. I wouldn't waste my money on these again.

I just had our 3rd child last week, and I have to say that this has been a lifesaver. My back had been really hurting from the back labor and really tough pregnancy, and I was looking for something to help with posture and support as I held my baby. I was hesitant because of the price, but I was in so much pain, I was willing to try anything to ease it. I even paid for overnight shipping just to get it faster.

A few thoughts on the product itself:
- Sizing - Amazon does not have sizing on its pages and I had to hunt all over the internet for it. Even then, it was really hard to determine the size I should get since it says to buy the size for what you want to be. I got a medium since I normally wear a size 8 or 10, but it was a total guess. I ended up feeling like it was a bit small, but then again, I am 25 lbs heavier than pre-pregnancy. Perhaps I will shrink into it. : I think a large may be too big, but the medium is TIGHT.
- Putting it on - The top band has nearly zero give, so you need to squeeze it overhead or up your thighs. It is HARD to get on and off, but I guess that is the point.
- Wearing - It is generally comfortable after you actually get it on, but it does have some areas where it is tighter or looser depending on your body type. It is most similar to a corset in its look and feel around your ribs and stomach. The only complaint I have is that the latches at the bottom are really hard to see and undo when you go the restroom. Also there is a rough edge that can rub against your thighs.
- Look - I had tons of compliments from friends that I look like I did before pregnancy only a week after giving birth. It does slim you down as long as you wear somewhat loose clothing on top.
- Support - It is very supportive of your back and stomach muscles. I am not sure it actually shrinks your pregnancy belly, but it does help support you when you are holding your baby which is exactly what I need. My back is already feeling less tension after 2.5 days of wearing this.

My wife says This product is excellent, as soon as She received it, She put it on and She felt very weell, The pain back and waist got off inmediately she said.

Initially its a little tight to get on, but once its on it feels great and I was able to move around more freely. I added a pad to soften it a bit.

It's not as very stretchable - it has a little bit of give and quite rough on the skin. I purchased this because it was much cheaper than a product I purchased and loved (Peanut Shell Flats Post-Pregnancy Belly Compression Postpartum Girdle with Panel) but is now too large, after recovering from surgery. I ended up returning this product and that was an experience. I decided to return it at a store since there is a Target store closeby. It was a bit of a challenge. The packing slip was not considered a receipt by the store and apparently I needed to have brought the printed "return slip" following the Return procedure on the amazon.com site. Returned to the Target store again and it turns out the site no longer (or maybe it was a glitch that day) recognizes amazon returns on their site. The employees wanted me to enter all of my amazon (account name, password, ...) information on a public site... complex. They ended up giving me a credit.

Bottomline, I would not recommend this product. And if you order this anyway, don't return to the store. You'll pay for shipping for the return.

I got this product after having my first child in hopes that it would help me "shape-up" and heal faster. However, I returned the girdle immediately after trying it on once because:
1. it's not the easiest thing to put on (but in all fairness, that goes for pretty much all girdles)
2. the band is not comfortable against your skin
3. though it may compress the postpartum belly, it creates a bulge above the band in the back. NOT pretty!
So, I returned this one for a different style (bodysuit w/ bra straps that prevent top from rolling down) and I am much happier with the results.

I couldn't give is 5 stars because when you wear it the way it was meant to be worn it is uncomfortable. I found that the button crotch tends to scratch your thigh and I could not leave it buttoned. However, I leave it unbottoned and suprisingly it does stay in place. Also be warned, they do run small. I was usually an XL (size 16) prior to pregnancy. I wore 2xl during pregnancy. I purchased the 2xl and it is definitely tight. Had to pull it on over head, take notice of the measurements on the box.
