'Gabriel ...First Name Basis' is just hot off the presses, and already getting attention at radio. He spent the first two weeks in January on the Show Boat Jazz Cruise, performing his own shows, and also performing as a special guest soloist with Bob James and Friends, sharing the stage with the likes of Harvey Mason, Nathan East, Robben Ford, Tom Scott, and the ubiquitous Bob James himself.
February 2005 will see the release of Gabriel's counterpart Mainstream jazz release 'Swingin' Affair', which features Dee Daniels on a rompin', stompin' blues, written by Gabriel and Dee, as well as a host of classic yet under recorded standards.
In 2004, Gabriel performed at the JVC Winter Park festival on the same bill with Jeff Lorber, Gerald Albright, and Paul Taylor.
Gabriels exciting 2004 Mainstream release Come Out Swingin', and his 'Gabriels Horns' Smooth jazz CDs impacted their respective charts in the US and Canada. 'Come Out Swingin' spent 10 weeks on the Jazz Week Top 30. Michael Buble' guests on this CD, a result of Gabriel and Michael's longstanding association. Throughout 2002 and early 2003, Gabriel had been performing as special guest (and sometime music director) with Michael (in support of Michaels Billboard top 100/David Foster produced release), and has been a guest performer with him on The Chris Isaak Show (Showtime) and the Vicki Gabareau Show (CTV).
In 2002, Gabriel was repeatedly exposed to the European community as part of two separate European compilation releases on Wave Records out of Germany, which featured the likes of Lee Ritenour, Al Jarreau, Boney James, Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, etc.
In the spring of 2000, Gabriel recorded Live On Maui at the famed Maui Arts and Cultural Center on Maui, Hawaii, and this exciting performance has been captured on CD and DVD, the latter of which aired as an hour long video special for BET On Jazz worldwide, and which remains in rotation in 41 countries.
Gabriel has also toured Japan, Australia, the U.S., Mexico, and Canada extensively. He has been fortunate enough to perform at many festivals including the very prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and the North Sea Jazz and Blues Festival in Holland. He has been featured at MusicFest among such luminaries as Louie Bellson, Pete Christlieb, Guido Basso, Phil Nimmons, Pat La Barbera, The New York Voices, Denny Christianson, and others.
