Morricone is one of three of my favorite film soundtrack composers. I am very pleased to have "Gabriel's Oboe" to listen to on my computer. I bought the entire album in MP3 format and listen often and enjoy every rich, sonorous sound which takes me back to the wonderful movie, The Mission.

This lovely and enchanting melody is so evocative it's hard to resist. After downloading it and the Vita Nostra chant (which led me to the movie to begin with when I heard it on a coffee commercial), I just downloaded the whole album. If you want the Vita Nostra chant and Gabriel's Oboe in one tract, download 'On Earth As It Is In Heaven'.
I think this is the only time I've sought out a movie because I was so captivated by the music. Some soundtracks are wonderful to highlight the film, but this is one that can stand on its own. It is incredibly uplifting. |
