7% Solution - 'Gabriel's Waltz' (X-Ray), January 27, 2005
This review is from: Gabriel's Waltz (Audio CD)
This is the Texas based five piece band's second CD, which sort of broadens their spectrum that was accomplished upon their prior release 'All About Satellites And Spaceships'. 7% Solution plays a good brand of guitar-driven psychedelia. Hard to believe, but there's no keyboard or synth employed on this disc. Tunes that I could barely get enough of were the atmospheric "Dear Anne", "Carousel" (where the guitar almost sounds like an organ being played) and "Dust And Ashes". Nicely done. Might appeal to fans of the Verve, Sonic Boom and Lockgroove. Well worth checking out.

INNER SPACE, August 3, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Gabriel's Waltz (Audio CD)
Beautiful second outing from a band that more people should be aware of.This band takes you from a gentle ocean tide of sparkling rippling Guitar to walls of feedback. All within the realms of well structured "hummable" songs. There is a simple clear but poetic quality to the words and vocals. Beeman's voice is mixed like it's speaking inside your head. And it all rings true.No keyboards are listed in the liner notes and if that's true then Guitars can never be the same again. For fans of My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead,Spiritualized,Brian Eno,U2, and the Verve.

This Is Not To Be Confused With A Waltz!, January 21, 2000
This review is from: Gabriel's Waltz (Audio CD)
For those of you who don't know, 7% Solution is a psychedlic, space-rock band from Austin, TX - much in the vein of Spiritualized or Hum. Gabriel's Waltz is the title of an Anne Sexton poem. 7%'s music is a lilting symphony of guitars, sometimes simple and others complex. Consider it a soundtrack for your life. A great album.
