This is a well researched book about one of the early 20th century's most famous and richest women performers, who is now almost forgotten. It is beautifully illustrated and chronicles the sadly short life of this glamorous woman, who captured the hearts of French, British and American theatre-goers. Her spectacular and erotic stage costumes and supposedly scandalous lifestyle kept the public enthralled. This book helps keep her memory alive and is an entertaining read.
