5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining. Many difficulty levels to choose from. February 6, 2014

I played about 20 levels on this so far, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Some of the levels are quite basic, and some are much more advanced, but all of them (so far) can be solved using pure deduction...no guessing required. Just keep painting the blocks you know are part of the solution and hammering the ones you know can't be...and viola!

I'm not sure what age levels to put on some of these levels. There's no math or reading involved, but the logic required goes beyond the elementary level. I'm not sure my 5-year-old could solve many of these on her own, but I still think it would be a fun game to sit down and play with her. The animal art that's revealed after you complete the puzzle is very nice, and this would be a good way to teach some logic and deduction to your kids.

I don't see anything that is a security concern on this game. No ad networks or hidden calls trying to phone home with your network information...so download it and try it out, you've got nothing to lose while it's the FAOTD. If you like the game, you've gotten a fun game for free...if you don't care for the style of game, it cost you nothing to find out.

When this isn't the FAOTD, I'd have to say that the $1.99 asking price is right at the top limit of what I'd pay. There are a lot of levels, and multiple difficulty setting, so it is worth that price...but just barely, and only if you know in advance that you enjoy this type of logic game.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like it enough I'm going to get some of the others February 6, 2014

Love the colors and the beautiful animal pictures! And I thrive on logic and creativity. I've not had my Kindle for a long time, so some of these games still give me pause, but I took to this one right away. It's really about numbers and logic--not painting (as the paint brush seems to imply). Solve the puzzle correctly and the tiles fall away to expose a beautiful picture.

I almost felt a bit guilty today: Me, getting so involved in this. I totally sloughed off... But, hey, I'll get over it!

You have to play with it a bit: The simplest level is the best way to start so you don't get too frustrated, but then your brain takes over and you are ready for the challenges of a bigger square with more tiles. Do some delving into it and you'll find some choices that will tax your (personal, oh, so individual) brain. Search for that, and you will find satisfaction.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very fun and addictive game February 6, 2014

The FlipPix Art series is a series of Nonogram (or Picross) puzzle games. I was introduced to these types of puzzles by Mario's Picross for the original Gameboy. I have always thought these puzzles have had the perfect level of difficulty: not too easy, not too hard...the objective of these puzzles is simple: fill the squares in the grid based off of the numbers on the top of the columns and the beginning of the rows. Say for example you have a 5...that means five consecutive squares would be filled. If you have a 2 and a 1, that means two consecutive squares followed by one square would be filled but they would be separated by at least one square. It is a very simple game, but those are the ones that always seem to challenge you the most, aren't they? The puzzles in this game start out simple, but progressively get harder. So far for me they have all been solved by logic but there are hints to help you along the way if you ever do get stuck on a puzzle.

There is a good amount of puzzles (232 according to the description) that span across four sizes (5x5, 10x10, 15x15 and 20x20) and the interface is pretty nice as well. You can disable the sound if you prefer. There is an informative tutorial included so you should be able to pick up on the game fairly quickly.

There are no suspicious permissions to be found from what I can tell.

Overall, this game (and the whole series for that matter) gets my full recommendation. Be careful though, they are addictive!

Thank you Amazon for putting another great game up as the FAOTD. :)

Did I mention that it's free (today).

I'm going to have to change this review a bit to suit tomorrow but for today it is dead on. I've downloaded lots of FAOTDs and this is, so far, among the top 5.

It is very well designed, easy to learn, and renders well on any screen from a phone to a tablet.

You start off with a great tutorial and from there move on to puzzles of increasing complexity. All with no pressure. There are no judgements about how many moves you need to solve a puzzle or how long it takes. If you make a mistake it tells you and corrects you. From there you can continue to solve the current puzzle from where you are or start it again.

Maybe if you don't like logic puzzles this isn't your "cup of tea" and, for today anyway, it is your chance to find out.

Be careful. I completed the Madagascar level and my kindle froze up completely. No buttons would work... only holding down the powerbutton for 20 seconds allowed me to get back.

Nicely designed app that keeps you engaged with good, challenging Nanogram puzzles. Pleasant HD Graphics and Excellent Sounds add to the pleasant atmosphere. Easy to learn by following the well delivered Instructions and Tutorial. Lots of Fun even for beginners like me. Glad I decided to try it. Definitely a wonderful Flip-Art/Nanogram app the keeps your interest. The controls work very smoothly and everything functions nicely. The Exceptional Instructions make it easy for all ages to learn. Has good options to adjust Volume, get HINTS, Reset puzzle, DeSelect tiles, etc.

Overall, a great Flip-Art app that is more Engaging and Fun than I thought it would be. Puzzles are addictive and seeing the Picture pop up after you solve them is an enjoyable touch. You chose Puzzle sizes from 5x5, 10x10 or 15x15 according to your skill and comfort level. Ability to Breakout unneeded tiles is a good feature that helps also.
A SAFE app with No Data-Mining, Ads, IAP or other Intrusions and only 1 reasonable Permission. Highly polished app that is quite Enjoyable with great Replay Value with a casual (no pressure) stye. Well worth the Price!
