The Venta humidifier is quiet, clean and maintenance free but the box only lasted 500 hours instead of the claimed 1000 hours. Perhaps the water on my block is not clean.

I bought a Venta air humidifier in the Winter 2007/08 and we are very much satisfied with it. However, depending on the frequence you use it, you have to change from time to time the filter. As we are using it 24/7 in the heating period, it must be replaced all 2-3 month. Unfortunately, in the shop where we bought the air humidifier (bed, bath & beyond) we could not buy the filters anymore. But with Amazon we could get them and even much cheeper as in the shop and the filters were delivered within a few days

Had to buy this filter box to replace one that was a little over a year old and used mostly overnight, every night. No problems to report with the filter replacement box itself at all. However, the first one sent to me was cracked in a few places, probably during shipping by FedEx since the outer shipping box looked like it was crushed a little. I called the company and they immediately sent me a replacement filter box at no charge and no questions asked. Great customer service!

I've had the Venta Sonic 370 for a year now, and i think i've had to return it 2xs. I love that it's quiet and pumps out a ton of moisture. The white box is delicate and like other reviewers said, it does not last that long. I think I got a replacement machine from Venta, and the thing stopped working within a month of usage. It turned on, but slowly eked out a thin amount of moisture. Then it just stopped. So i figured, "ok, one more time i'll buy a new filter and see if that's the culprit." If not, i was going to throw it out. My other Vick's humidifier for $32 works just fine, so i would have been sorry to see the Venta go, but hey, i'm not spending $65 a season just to keep it going. So...now that this product has it's problems, but when it's working, it's really good i think.

I have owned the venta sonic humidifier for over one year and have had problems with the filters. The first one broke after one month and venta replaced it for free. Now the one i bought at amazon.com worked for onlly two weeks and the broke. When it works the humidifier is great however, I can't keep spending this much money for filters that don't last.

It works. What's great about this system is there are no filters and multiple parts to clean and change. Just one basic "maintenance free" box. You take out the old, and the new one easily fits in the slot. That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less. It works fine and seems to last forever. (Of course, ours was quite dirty by the time I got around to changing it)

This replacement filter is quieter and seems to emit more mist than the filter that came with the product. So, it is an improvement. The first one lasted a year, we'll see how this one does. Four starts because they are so expensive.

Typical -you pay extra for an expensive humidifier thinking the quality will justify the extra money. It doesn't. The "maintenance free unit" (just a glorified filter) lasts less than a season, even using it only a few hours at night. And the part costs as much as a whole cheap (but equally effective) humidifier with a conventional filter. So much for German quality!

I end up replacing these filters more often than necessary because they stop working. I love the machine, but these filters are too touchy. I don't have much choice other than to replace them though if I want to use the machine. For the price I expect them to be better.

Pro's: I found this product performs as promised with no maintenance or other cleaning. It provides a very fine mist into the air and promptly adds moisture to the air as promised. It is also very quite and extremely easy to fill.

Con's: It is costly.

I would recommend this product.
