GadgetTrak™ Verey for the Mac is unique theft recovery software that enables your Mac to send information back to you when stolen, including video of the thief. When activated GadgetTrak Verey will activate the built-in iSight camera if available to capture video of thieves and unauthorized users and send it to you via email along with location, network information including all wireless networks in the area. To respect your privacy GadgetTrak Verey does not communicate with GadgetTrak servers and no monitoring of your system is done remotely. I purchased this software at MacWorld as I was impressed with the demo, the fact that you can capture video of thieves and unauthorized users.It is easy to install and captures high quality video. Very innovative!

My wired ADSL dropped during the night, so the WiFi connection took over. The network change triggered Verey which probably asked for my password. I'm sleeping, so it doesn't get one. I later wake up to a red on white "you did not enter the correct password" screen. Damn! VEREY annoying. Totally unacceptable to have to force a reboot. I did get a video of my naked upper back though, hence the 2 stars.

The GadgetTrak software works through a popup box requiring a password approximately 1-2 minutes after a user logs in. I "tested" the software 2-3 times by entering an incorrect password and did NOT get the promised email with localizing information or any video footage of the "thief" (myself).
