This is a wonderful CD; the women talk about various things related to the songs, and then they sing them. Since they were interviewed in the 1950s, they are much closer to the old ways, and true Gaelic pronunciation, than if it were done more recently. I actually enjoyed the part where they talk as much as, or even more than, the songs. The CD demonstrates how closely song and work (and life) were intertwined in Scottish culture. A great time capsule!
