There is not a better resource for the Gaelic learner to study verbs and sentence structure. This book is a valuable tool, even for the advanced learner - it is a necessary component to your Gaelic library. Chapter by chapter, verbs are clearly congregated, explained, and used in several sentences to give unambiguous examples. The Table of Contents and Index are extensive (good finding aids) and very useful, as are the multiple Appendices. As the title states, "Systemised and Simplified" indeed! Save yourself a lot of headaches with your Gaelic studies - get this book.

I own pretty much every Scottish Gaelic language book available, and this is not only outstanding, but I would say essential. Gaidhlig verbs are both complex and subtle, and Colin Mark has done an estimable job of organizing them for easy learning. Along with "Scottish Gaelic in Twelve Weeks," (see my review there), this book is one half of a complete Scottish Language course, and contains material not found in other Scottish Gaelic books. Between the two, I think they are sufficient to learn Scottish Gaelic. It certainly doesn't hurt to utilize other assets, as well, but everything you will find about Scottish Gaelic is covered in these two -- the verbs recieve the lion's share of emphasis here, and the propositions in "Twelve Weeks," which largely covers Scottish Gaelic grammar. Highly recommended!!
