The Milk Island is a fantastic compliment to the Gaggia Platinum machines. The machine already brews your espresso at the touch of a button, and now the milk island froths your milk just as easily. Pour your milk into the Milk Island, turn the steam knob to the Milk Island position, and watch as your fresh cold milk turns into hot, creamy, delicious froth for your cappuccino or latte. The milk is contained in the Milk Island so no milk enters the machine so it won’t clog and it is easy to clean. It can be completely taken apart for rinsing in no time at all. It's completely hands off and so easy your kids can use it to heat their milk for their hot cocoa! For a nice creamy latte, swirl the milk in the milk island before pouring to mix the steamed and frothed milk. For a cappuccino hold back the frothed milk with a spoon to pour the hot steamed milk then remove the spoon and pour out the frothed milk topping.

We are loving this milk island as it froths the milk just like the baristas do at high end coffee shops!! It incredibly easy to use and a snap to clean. Tips: never fill the canister higher than the top fill line as the milk gets so foamy it overflows and therefore the milk doesn't heat to perfect temp. When filled as directed you are guaranteed perfect temp milk and beautiful foam! We top with caramel sauce and it floats on top all swirled looking just like starbucks! I gave it a 4 star because we are on our second one in 8 months because it is made of glass and is easily breakable so for the high price you have to be super careful! My friends come over and ask for a coffee all of the time saying they would have picked up coffees but mine are better and way cheaper! You will not regret this purchase!

Pretty neat concept but did not work the way I would like it to.

If you want hot milk and not alot of froth this would work for you.
It seemed to heat the milk but by the time the milk would start to Froth it was way to hot for me.

While I think this attachment is a good idea, it needs a little redesign. It is hard to get it twisted on firmly enough to froth the milk. It is not so very easy to clean. It would also be nice if it held more milk.
