Product Description

Both plants and animals, including humans, benefit from a regular supply of trace minerals, which are best transferred to the human body through vegetables grown in soil rich in trace minerals. Glacial Rock Dust is a natural mineral product which is produced over many thousands of years by glacial action. A wide variety of rocks which contain a broad spectrum of trace minerals are collected and pulverized by the expansion/contraction action of the glacier. As the glacier recedes, it leaves behind deposits of "glacial moraine". These deposits are mined, dried, and screened for agricultural and horticultural re-mineralization. Today nearly all agricultural land is depleted of trace minerals, due in part to the exclusive use of chemical fertilizers and ground water pollution. For trace minerals to be quickly absorbed by plants , they must first be finely ground into rock dust. In technical terms - 74 microns. Because these trace minerals are so finely ground, they react like clay, clumping together when any amount of moisture is added. It is not necessary to add or replace trace minerals, for they are slowly released in the soil over many years.

My vegetables are sweeter than anything you can purchase at the organic grocer or local farmer's market and I think it is Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust that does it for me. It is very finely ground.

Gardening, a recently aquired hobby, is more an art than a science for me. I have gardened for just
two years now, this year and last year. I heard about rock dust and was not sure what to make of it.
For a long while I thought it was a scam to sell ground up rocks and it kind of irked me. But after a
while I started to see what I thought were honest people ... not many of them on the Internet ... talk
about their experiences with rock dust.

So, I thought I would try some out this year. But I also change a lot of other variables in my gardening
and learned a lot in one year ... so my experience is not really scientific. I put about 3/4 - a whole cup
of rock dust in all my containers and in all the holes I dug in the ground to plant plants. In addition
I put some worm castings, organic fertilizer, and some composted chicken manure as well. Not that
much more fertilizer than I used last year, but definitely some rock dust where there was none last year.

I got very healthy and fast growth. I don't think I got tomatoes, or fruit any earlier, but my plants "seem"
healthier this year and more disease free. But I also for about 4 days in row with I first planted sprayed
all my plants with store bought compost tea as well hoping to develop them good at the beginning.
I think the compost tea made a difference and will look into continuing that in the future by making
my own - the store bought is too expensive.

So .... I believe that the rock dust has made a difference. I cannot really say for sure if my fruit tastes
better this year than last ... that is too subjective a measure. I perceive a difference and I believe that
some of that at least was due to the rock dust.

After successfully getting small plants from Heirloom seeds, I searched for Organic products to enhance the outcome for GREAT VEGGIES!! This product was excellent...plants are amazingly healthy. This product was mixed with Earthworm castings and Mushroom compose. Using container method and I'm thrilled with the super outcome!!
