I'll admit I was skeptical. I've long believed in trying natural remedies but so often can't tell that they are actually doing anything. At the same time....it doesn't hurt to try, right? I'm a notoriously light sleeper and in the past 12 months, the frequent wakings have ended up with me lying awake for hours at a time. I'll go to bed and go right to sleep, then some small thing - a dog grooming, a child getting up to go to the bathroom - will wake me up and then I lie there for hours trying to go back to sleep. At the time I ordered this product, I was suffering a major sleep deficit. Following the directions, I started to take 2 capsules (not too big, easy to swallow) around the time I was ready to go to bed. The first couple of nights I didn't notice anything but after taking them a few nights in a row, I had a really good night's sleep. Oh, I still woke frequently, but instead of staying awake, I was able to go right back to sleep.
The biggest problem I have is that I forget to take them. After a few good night's sleep, I'll stop taking them - not by design but just because they're not on my mind any more - and within days I start having difficulty sleeping again. Then, when I resume taking them it does take a few days to get enough into my system to make a difference again.
These may not be for everyone but having gone through this cycle 3-4 times now, and noticing that I sleep better on each cycle, after taking them for a few night's consistently, I have decided its not my imagination and they really do make a difference. I rated them a 4 only because it does take a few days to load, so in reality it takes 8-10 capsules to get the first good night's sleep.
