5.0 out of 5 stars Diferente de los Anteriores, pero IGUAL DE EXCELENTE!!!
Grandioso!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mago de OZ - Revitalizing Spanish Rock, September 14, 2006

This review is from: Gaia II (Audio CD)
Gaia II is a double album with about 14 full tracks. The style and content of this album is comparable to Demons & Wizards, in which many instruments are used to enhance the musical content. 11 out of the 16 full tracks carry a heavy rythm with double bass drums and smart melodic riffs. Additionally, the piano, flutes and violins are often used as Iron Maiden uses their double lead guitars, which I think is a very innovative way of adding richness to the already great sound.
The three slow songs are very enjoyable and I wouldn't be surprised to hear them on your local spanish rock friendly station. The 3 slows songs in this album carry a medieval/folk sounds which reminded me of popular Irish folk songs - only in Spanish.
In this concept album most songs are about religious control and human expression. Although I haven't had a chance to read the story that this book includes, I found the song lyrics nicely written and possessing the right amount of passion and eloquence that this topic deserves.
If you love Old Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Black Majesty, Hammerfall - you will not be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW...I can listen to it all day long!, January 7, 2006
This review is from: Gaia II: La Voz Dormida (Audio CD)
This CD is the best Mago de Oz has made yet. Every song is incredible. They're so progressive and still they sound like Mago. Jose is a great singer, he sings better than Bruce Dickison. His voice is very crucial in this album. Gaia II went gold and platinum in Spain. This is just the best. Buy this album you won't regret it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaia 2, April 24, 2011

This review is from: Gaia II (Audio CD)
To me the best album of the trilogy Gaia. It is metallic, ambitious and super. The lyrics are explicative of the Inquisition in Spain, with a deep sentiment of regret of that epoch. It is a very deep and sharp critic to the Catholic religion, who committed the blood bath in Spain for 300 years. Being Catholic myself, this is a historic epoch and its there in the history books, so I can understand the ironic and sarcastic tones of the record. Kudos for Mago de Oz.

5.0 out of 5 stars How's my driving?, January 24, 2008

This review is from: Gaia II (Audio CD)
This is a 2 disk album and it takes off where the last one ended. This is by far my favorite album of theirs and I think it's also their best one too. The whole thing is just epic from start to finish especially the opening song "La Voz Dormida" and the final one "La Cantata del Diablo" which is a whopping 22 minutes long of greatness. It has a very nice flow to it from start to finish and you won't find yourself skipping over any of the songs if anything you will repeat some of the songs.

They blend power metal, celtic folk, opera and keyboards together very nicely and it never sounds cheesy or fake. Most of the songs are fast paced rockers, full of folk melodies, and their are a couple of slower type ballads also included. The lyrics from what I can understand are pretty good and tell a good story from start to finish.

I would recommend this cd to anyone who likes music not just power metal or folk music and whether or not you understan spanish because there is something for everyone one on this cd. I think that it would be hard to listen to this cd and not like it it's just that good. Also if you're new to the bad this would be a good album to start with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disco bastante bueno, July 17, 2006
This review is from: Gaia II: La Voz Dormida (Audio CD)

5.0 out of 5 stars Sencillamente espectacular...., July 14, 2006
This review is from: Gaia II: La Voz Dormida (Audio CD)
