I spent more time in class trying not to fall on my face in warrior pose than actually focusing on the pose due to the slippery mat.

This mat also gets extremely slippery when wet and, although I don't practice heated/hot yoga, I sweat quite a bit.

I bought this while in a pinch one night before yoga. I have been using for my Vinyasa class (4 times per week), but I just upgraded to a Jade Yoga Mat (in mail from amazon right now!).

Pros:
Thin yet comfortable design.
Good traction, even when sweaty.
Good absorption.
Eco-friendly
Reversible

Cons:
Short
Not very durable
Still feels like a value mat.
Hard to clean ~ it takes days to dry (I actually put it in the dryer on low heat once - it did turn out okay!)

Trying this compared to the 'standard' style of inexpensive mats, this is definitely an improvement; but it doesn't compare with the mid to top level mats from Manduka, Prana, and Jade. Great for gentle yoga but not ideal for Vinyasa or other styles that have to moving poses very quickly and sweating tons.

Found this mat to be extremely helpful for both (regular & hot) yoga sessions. Under both conditions, it's anti-slip quality holds up perfect! It's one of the very few high-ens built mats at an affordable price.
Also one of the few that "doesn't" absorb water/sweat :). The material feels like a wetsuit. I'm a guy and found that the reversible color option is a nice feature.
FYI: both sides have identical finish and performance. This pic doesn't do it justice. Hope this helps.

I really like this yoga mat. It's sticky enough to hold my feet and hands in place, and it has a decent amount of cushion. I've washed it in the shower with shampoo and it comes out good as new!

This is the second mat I own. Yes, the main attraction for my needs is the light weight. Living in the city of San Francisco, where the public transportation is questionable, one needs to walk hills, and long distances to save time. The lighter your backpack the better for your back and general health.

HOWEVER, this product has a number of caveats. Whatever you don't like on a mat, this product has it. For instance, it saves odours, super slippery when wet, doesn't last long, brittle, falls apart, etc, etc, etc. A no-no recommendation.

Why in heaven I own 2 of these mats? again, light weight. Relatively unexpensive. Those of us who seat a lot for no reason during practice will benefit with a cotton towel. Bed, bad and beyond sells super light weight cotton towels, ultra absorbent, soft, etc. I'll find the brand name for readers later.

I've heard good things about Gaiam so I had high hopes for this mat. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectation. I've tried wiping my mat with vinegar, washing my mat in the washer, and keeping my mat clean after use and it is still waxy feeling. I give two stars because it's a nice color and there's no odor.

Next time I'm just going to invest another $20-30 for more quality and leave this for my cat to use under his litter box.

I'm 6'4" and this mat made a huge difference @ yoga class. My hands and feet slip less now too.

This mat is very thin and light weight, but when I use it in class, it wrinkles and stretches while I am doing poses, it can also get slippery. I am going to keep it for the once a month relaxation classes ay my studio, but I can't recommend it.

I mostly use this mat for non-yoga exercise, and it works well for that. It's basically a thin cushion that keeps me off the floor. I wouldn't be able to do yoga on it because my hands slip too easily in down dog. Not relaxing.

Pros: price, color, holding up pretty well
Cons: slippery
