4.0 out of 5 stars Does what is says it will do
The essential tools, mat, blocks and strap are fairly standard in all the yoga videos. The video that comes with it does give a good demonstration of how to use the equipment, but does not give an exercise routine of any length. For the price some venders charge for this kit, it seems that the video could be more encompassing... particularly since it is package with VHS...

2.0 out of 5 stars yoga kit
The yoga matt itself is ok but it comes with a video TAPE and unfortunatly I don't have a VCR anymore. Maybe it could be updated to a dvd.

So therefore I still don't know how to use the yoga kit properly.

The video that comes with it does give a good demonstration of how to use the equipment, but does not give an exercise routine of any length. For the price some venders charge for this kit, it seems that the video could be more encompassing... particularly since it is package with VHS instead of DVD in the DVD age. At Amazon's price, it is a fair deal for the equipment you get if you aren't expecting it to come with a work out video. The video is only a demonstration video... no real substantial workout. You'll have to buy an extra video or DVD for that.

I'm not the picky type, but how could you go wrong with a complete kit like this one for 20 bucks? I've looked around, and this product or similars ones cost around $40-$50! I wasn't spending that much, and for almost half the price, I got exactly what I was looking for. I didn't watch the video yet that came with the kit because I know how to use the products, but even without the video, I'm completely satisfied. The video would probably be best for beginners. Anyway, the kit is great!

I'm a yoga novice, but I wanted to get started correctly. After reviewing MANY of the other mats and sets sold on amazon, this is the one I settled on. It's a good thickness and length plus you get the blocks and strap with it for practically no extra cost. I wasn't sure if I would need the other products, but I have already used them both and I just got started in yoga.

If I had one complaint it would be that my hands and bare feet would sweat and slip. I was under the assumption that a "sticky" mat meant no slipping, however, I discovered that comes with use. The more you use it, the stickier it becomes. I also read a tip: mist it after each use with a spray bottle of water + a few drops of essential oil of your choice, then wipe it down with a towel. It helps keep it disinfected and to get stickier so you don't slip.

4.0 out of 5 stars a pretty good yoga mat, August 19, 2006

All in all this kit is pretty decent. It comes with an instructional tape that tells you how to use the other tools that come in the yoga kit. For the yoga practice that I do, I didn't really need the other tools. But if this is part of your practice, then it's worth it.

As far as the mat goes, i like using it but find that, with some activities, it slips underneath me. Also, the mat rolls up a lot on the end so sometimes that can be annoying. Overall though, the mat serves it's purpose. It would probably be more useful to use this on a hard surface than on a carpet. That way it may not slip as much.

Fair price, great product for people just starting off with Yoga. Only downside is it doesn't have a bag.
