These are a great way to keep your recycling organized and nice looking in the house. I've always hated just having everything shoved into bags until recycling day when it all goes outside. These are much nicer looking and stand up well because they Velcro together. They are easy to clean or if you prefer they will hold a paper bag nicely as well. The only thing that could make them better is if they had some sort of a solid bottom and/or flap lid.

Good product to separate recycles,

I was looking for an all in one recycling container that I saw in the magazine Dwell but were quite expensive ($70-$200). I found these 3 bags to be reasonably priced. The product arrived very quickly in about 5 days.
Upon opening I was a little disappointed to the flimsy quality and the bags were bigger than I had expected. One bag smelled like it was used for dirt so I am not sure if I received a returned bag. The bags are designated for metals, paper, and glass. However, you can use them for whatever your needs are. I use one for plastic bags, one for paper (cereal boxes, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, etc), and the 3rd bag I combine my plastic food containers, glass bottles, and cans. In order to keep the bags standing up you will need to connect them with the velcro and place up against a wall for support until you start filling them up with your recycles. The bags fit nicely into my kitchen closet. Since I do not have curb side recycling, I have been driving to a local place that has recycling bins. The bags are nice to carry back and forth while being able to hold a lot of weight. I would definitely not have these bags laying out for people to see. But if you have a closet or a place in your garage, these bags will come in handy.

Recylcing Bags,

These bags do all that they say they will. Organize, transport, and stand upright even when empty. I've gotten so many compliments and queries from people who see them and want some for themselves!

Recycling made easy,

I bought these for recycling in my house. I like that the bags are covered w/some kind of coating so if there is any water from rinsing the cans out, it won't get the floor wet. I also like that you can replace the pictures on the front w/your own to fit your own need (very helpful with husbands/kids).

Finally, a way to get all those separated recyclables out to the curb without using large bins (which take up room) plus no more need to use paper bags. They're heavy duty and they hold a LOT, too. You can use the little cards provided or create your own and place inside the plastic sleeve on the side of the bags. They fold up nicely while not in use. Only improvement would be to produce this product itself with some/all recycled material content.

Happy Recycling,

We don't have curbside recycling, and have to take our recycling to the recycling center at the dump. These make it much easier than our previous system since it allows you to 'pre-sort' when you put item in the bags. The bags are lightweight and well-made. When velcro'd together they stand up on their own. They hold quite a lot - up to three weeks of recycling for us, and are tall enough to keep the cats out of them. I would recommend them.

Ordered these with the intentions of using in my office. Essentially, these are reusable shopping bags with labels on the side and Velcro tabs to hold them together. They are much larger than the typical shopping bag however. 2-4x larger actually! They work for what they are and are quite strong (no problem with 50+ pounds of glass). They also fold quite nicely with the Velcro attachments if you are not using one or more. The only disadvantage really is that they really are large and occupy a lot of floor space (good for some, not good for others) and the fact that not having any "frame," they can be subject to tipping when empty. My opinion is that they are a good alternative to plastic bins and a strong substitue to paper bags or cardboard boxes which have no handles and cannot be washed.

Great for those without city recycling pickups,

I'm in Texas, and we still have tons of landfill space, so recycling isn't a priority unless you're in one of our 5 major cities. I'm sure parts of Houston's Harris county does curb-side city recycling, but most of suberbia doesn't. I have a self-recycling center right next to my office, and these leak-proof bags work great. They fit into the trunk of my car much easier than fixed-size tubs. Oh, and they stand up just fine as long as you use the velcrow.
(They'd be better if they came in colors that would blend into the average kitchen color scheme, like marroon or hunter green. The silver looks ok. I don't need my recycling bags to screem "LOOK, I Recycle!" I'd rather the bags blend in and look more like they belong in my kitchen.)

I've been using these bags for about 2 years now and while I like the flexibility they provide, when the bags are empty they tend to collapse on themselves which is a pain when you're trying to place items in them. You also have to use a liner of sorts, I use a paper bag, especially for co-mingled recyclables since they are almost impossible to wash out.

What a great product! Not a hard side but they do velcro together and stand up nicely! Customizeable label for whatever you are able to recycle in your area! Very good size if you do have weekly pick up. I keep them in the kitchen and take them to the recycling pick up bin outside for the weekly pick up. They save me a lot of steps and you are able to get a lot moved in each bag! I looked around for a large enough container to make it worth while but wasn't willing to spend up to $200 just to have recycleables in one area. This is a nice economical choice!
