This type of ring isn't as good as some others with the fiberglass(?) ring style as opposed to this which is foam. The handles here are just a change of fabric, not as clear inside/outside grips that make pilates style exercises so much more beneficial. The price is right though, better than the fiberglass styles. I prefer the other style, though this price was better ($15 as opposed to $25-30) and may not be bad to start with if price is an large factor in your buying decision.

The ring very easy and comfortable to use and the associated video is a good introduction. The only negative is it is lightweight in terms of the resistance; would have like a more challenging ring. Great price from Amazon, $5 cheaper than at the Gaiam site.

I bought this product thinking it would be a good at-home option when I didn't go to Pilates class. This version doesn't offer half the resistance of a "real" fitness circle and therefore the workout you get from it is only subpar. I wish I would have spent the extra money to get a better circle and a better workout initially.

I received this set and the foam handles are not connected to the rubber coating of the ring. It's by far the shoddiest ring I've bought.
There are similar rings at this price that are much better quality. I bought this for my pilates students and I will have to send it back.
You should also know that this offers very little resistance as the other reviewers have mentioned. I don't believe a pilates beginner will benefit from this ring for very long. When you use a ring/circle for feedback in your matwork, you need it to not squish into an oval with the slightest pressure. You also need resistance for the upper body work. Search out the company that makes the "pink" ring and get that one. It's a great, lower-cost ring as opposed to the Stott or Peak ones that are high end. If you love the dvd.. buy a better ring and rock your Pilates.

If you are a beginner, have injuries that require light, gentle exercise or if you are a bit out of shape and looking for an easy entry point into Pilates, this video is for you.

However, if you are a seasoned or even an intermediate pilates practioner like me, you will be incredibly disappointed. The workout just is not challenging. I didn't even break a sweat. If you're looking for a good pilates workout try Gaiam's other pilates videos - you'll be better off. And if you're looking to incorporate resistance training into your workout, look for Gaiam's Bodyband kit or try Gaiam's Tricord kit featuring Charles Shand - both are excellent.

Gaiam packaging is very nice, but this ring not worth the money or effort! it is too flimsy. what i mean by flimsy is "smashable." if it doesn't provide resistance, it doesn't cheats you out of the core connection you are going for, i find. also, it was literally coming apart and disconnecting mid-exercise after only about 3-4 uses. finally, the lack of the curved pieces/grips others have compromised the range of exercises you can do with other rings. i am about to order the SIsyama one that is purportedly the same heavy resistance you find in studios teaching high quality mat classes. fingers crossed!

My Daughter-in-Law was very pleased with this product. The product is sturdy and was sent packaged well and when opened I had an excellent product to wrap for Christmas.

This pilates ring broke during my first workout. I checked the package and there is no warranty and the company claims no liability for the product. It sounds like they know it breaks easily.

I purchased this item at Borders here in VA this past weekend and I could not wait to try it. I have been doing pilates for a while now and wanted to try something new, so I saw this product.

While immediately you can feel the ring position your body differently and you must work harder, the ring cannot hold up.

When doing the 100, you place the ring between your feet to secure... well it broke. It snapped where there 'handles' are, and I was not even squeezing hard!

If you want a pilates ring, get the higher up models. Today I get to return to product.
