Wayland Drew (1932 - 1998) was a Canadian writer known for his environmental themes; his first novel, "The Wabeno Feast" (1973) is widely praised. Drew also wrote a number of movie novelizations, including "Corvette Summer" and "Dragonslayer."

I don't put many books aside with the idea that I want to read them again. This is one of them. Both the story and the characterization were excellent. I was especially surprised by the quality when I realized how new an author he is. Definitely someone I plan to keep an eye out for.
