The Shooter of Genesis,

Gaiares was an ill received space shooter much like R-Type and Thunder Force during the Genesis days. It featured a really excellent power-up scheme in that you could absorb enemy attacks and then use them against them. It featured huge bosses, great design, and a decent sound track. Definitely the best shooter on Gensis but very much an unknown to many because of it's poor sales and lack of marketing. But don't unerestimate this game due to it's publishers lack of enthusiasm. The developers put a lot of heart in here and it shows in one of the best shooters I have ever played!

I loved this game back on the old Genesis days and this is one I would love to see remade for PS2
