The first four songs on this CD came off an album that I found 15 years ago by Roy Gaines, called 'Gainelining' - with a graphic on the cover showing a hyperdermic needle going into the jack on the guitar. It was fabulous. It was on a label called Red Lightning records (an import), and I've never been able to find a copy since. So, I'm thrilled to find at least some of these songs again. Roy is as cool as they come, and his 'scat', where he plays and sings the same notes simultaneously, would make George Benson quiver like a little boy. If you love blues, mixed with some hard-edged funk, this is it.
