Story delightfully told- and every couple of minutes there was an eye opener- this guy did SO much! How did I never hear of him before? (aside from the fact that French music never gets across the Atlantic, unless it's Edith Piaf)

This is a MUST see film. One of the best biopics I have ever seen. You will want to purchase it for all your friends and family members that love music.

While there are some "fantastical" elements to the movie, the movie itself is wonderful. It doesn't add much new to the story of what we know(about his chain smoking, drinking, etc), but it does a great job of bringing Serge to life, and showing us a bit more about his childhood. Eric does great job of playing Serge and even though I don't much care for Jane Birkin, the actress that played her was a good fit as were the others.
