5.0 out of 5 stars a wonderful collection of gospel gems, April 5, 2004
Culled from Bill and Gloria Gaither's many live Homecoming reunions, from venues as diverse as the famous old Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to the beautiful Central Hall Westminster, in London, England, some of gospel music's greatest singers are showcased with brief introductions by Bill. These are all inspiring songs that fill the heart with praise, hope and gratitude, and they're performed with devotion and musical excellence.

Song list:
1. "Farther Along" ~ Ivan Parker, 1995.
2. "Sweet Beulah Land" ~ Squire Parsons, 1995
3. "To God be the Glory" ~ Andrae Crouch, (this is mislabeled on my copy) 2001
4. "Joy Comes in the Morning" ~ Joy Gardner, 1996
5. "Rock of Ages" ~ Vestal Goodman, Reggie Smith, Joy Gardner, Stephen Hill, 1998
6. "In the Garden" ~ The Mullins Family, 1995
7. "I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary"~ Gaither Vocal Band, 1998
8. "Whispering Hope" ~ Larry Ford, 2000
9. "If I Can Help Someone" ~ Glen Payne (in one of his last performances), 2000
10. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" ~ Larry Ford, 2000
11. "Lord, Send Your Angels" ~ Candy Christmas, Kim Hopper, Charlotte Ritchie, 2000
12. "I'm Free" ~ Lynda Randle, David Phelps, 2000
13. "The King is Coming" ~ Gaither Vocal Band, George Younce, 2001
14. "Through it All" ~ Jessy Dixon, Ben Speer, 1996
15. "The Blood Will Never Lose its Power" ~ CeCe Winans, 2001
16. "Highway to Heaven" ~ Jessy Dixon, Glen Payne, (one of the 2 up-tempo songs in the collection, it's a real hand-clapper) 1998
17. "The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference" ~ Gaither Vocal Band (Guy Penrod), 2001
18. "Standing in the Need of Prayer" ~ Evie Karlsson, Sarah DeLane, 2001
19. "Oh, What a Time !" ~ Gaither Vocal Band, Jake Hess (the 2nd up-tempo song) 2001
20. "Climbing Jacob's Ladder" ~ Ann Downing, The Ruppes, The Nelons, Greater Vision, 2001

This is good to put on and watch when your spirit needs a lift, and serves equally well as background music, as the songs are mostly in a mellow mood, and will bring peace and harmony to your living space.
Total running time is one hour and ten minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Old Songs, October 17, 2007
How do you pick the best Gaither songs. It is difficult with so many but these are great. My favorite on this DVD is Lord Send Your Angels with Candy Christmas, Kim Hopper and Charlotte Ritchie. The Mystery of God's Will: Living the Christian Life as Seen in Ephesians

5.0 out of 5 stars Music of Hope............, April 10, 2007
This is great music to speak to your heart, soul and mind. I love to play it with the children around. Alot better for their minds than what is popular with the mainstream today.

4.0 out of 5 stars The First in the All-Time Favorite Homecoming Series, July 22, 2011
This is the first in the series of "20 All Time Homecoming Favorites" with selections from outstanding performances of Homecoming classics.
This series captures all the excitement of the original live concerts. Two numbers from the Ryman Gospel Reunion performance are the opening numbers featured on this unique program. Ivan Parker is featured singing "Further Along" and Squire Parsons follows this with "Sweet Beulah Land."

The program continues strong featuring Russ Taft singing an arrangement of Andre Crouch's song "My Tribute." Joy Gardner follows with a song that emphasizes the element of hope for the Christian found in the song "Joy Comes in the Morning."

I always find Anthony Burger's masterful piano accompaniment adds a special dimension to my enjoyment of these concerts. Other personal favorites include: The Vocal Band's number "I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary," Larry Ford's rendition of "Whispering Hope," and Glen Payne's sincerity when singing "If I can Help Somebody." I also enjoyed the Vocal Band singing "The King is Coming" with George Younce.

Other artists featured on this program include: Vestal Goodman, Stephan Hill, Reggie Smith, The Mullins Family, Candy Christmas, Ben Speer, Jess Dickson and many others.

I am looking forward to adding additional recordings of this series to my growing collection of Homecoming favorites.

I walked into the activity room one day and one of the men in the home was sitting there watching...with tears rolling down his face. Priceless. God inspired music when he needed it most.

My elderly parents watch a lot of DVD's. This is one they watch over and over again and never seem to tire of it. It was a great price and provides hours of pleasure for both of them.
